I do for kicks sometimes. I'm not sure if WWF just reserves their names or they have accounts but do not respond but the games do start then the celebrity never makes their move. A couple of weeks later the game is forfeited, I win and get a cool graphic souvenir has been my experience. Honest to goodness Wednesday morning I got this:

I successfully invited and played Dr. Hawking to play Words With Friends. I was beating him so badly that I thought I offended him, because it was weeks later and he didn't make a move. One of my friends, Coward Holowitz, said that he used to work with Dr. Hawking and that he's a sore loser. Somehow, he came back and played his turn and I tried to throw the match for him, but my conscience told me not to. I ended up beating him and was promptly congratulated by my roommate, Jeonard Cofsteader.
