I am considering buying a game console to help with rehab in my hands and fingers, regaining coordination and reteaching them to essentially work as I tell them to. I would play mostly JRPGs and strategy type games. So what conbsole would be best and what are some ofn the better type games I could get. Note that twitch/fast reaction type games are out, at least for awhile.

I don't have any suggestions because I don't know anything about game consoles. But I sure think that's a great idea. Glad to see ya' back.

I don't know much about the consoles (I have a Wii but it only gets used for baseball) but if you like RPG's then the Fallout games or Skyrim would be my recommendation.

I don't know where you can find JRPGs anymore, but my console recommendation would be the Wii. You get all of the thumb work of the other consoles, but you also get to include your wrists and elbows. Nintendo titles are probably going to be the most thorough workout you're going to get for fine control and between GameCube compatibility and the Virtual Console, you're going to have access to a fantastic back library of titles.

Consoles depend on preference.

For a game however, I'd recommend Rock Band 3. That's all about working your fingers (and not just a thumb on a stick). It's kinda cheesy but has sensationally long-lasting replay appeal.

That vis ckinda qn original, neat idea, so thank you. Not sure it would work for awhile since I lack stamina badly.

I asked the same question on another forum the other day and the most replies said sony...that is the extent of my knowledge

For JPRG games and a console I would suggest Playstation 3

The controler is smaller then the x box

I think the PS3 has more JRPG's, not sure though since I have no interest in them.

Oh, and also this makes all of your "PC gaming is superior" arguments automatically invalid, just saying ;)

Don't get Skyrim. You won't have a life.

If you want Current for JRPGs I would go with PlayStation, but the Wii is a good choice since you can download a lot of old school RPGs from the Virtual Console Service.
