I feel that one very under rated aspect of games is their soundtracks. While I admit the music/sounds of a game are generally of less interest behind game play and graphics I believe they still hold a valuable part in ones game experience. I can listen to soundtracks of games long past and still get a strong feeling of nostalgia. Sometimes just hearing an old sound files/music can make me want to reinstall an old game just to experience the game again.

What are some of your favorite or most memorable game sounds/music?

Here are some of mine..

Age of Empires 2 soundtrack part 1 - YouTube

Ultima Online Stones - YouTube

When did we get a 1 video limit? Is that something new or have we always had it?

For me, Halo and Crysis, a few of the Tom Clancy games, and anything Star Wars-related come to mind.

A significant portion of my music library consists of gaming music. There's so much good stuff out there, it's impossible to select a favorite. Here are some notables:

Unreal series.

Battlefield series.

Final Fantasy series.

There are so many more...

Two Worlds. The game itself wasn't much to speak of, though I had fun with it. The music, however, is some of the best I've ever heard.

I've said in other threads that vocals don't really matter much to me, but for those who like that sort of thing...I give you this:

Little Teardrop - Two Worlds 2

Final Fantasy 7. There is a section where the villain, Sepheroth(sp?) is doing some evil stuff, and the soundtrack is just incredibly creepy. Plus the opening to the game, which felt like watching a movie, long before an opening like that was the norm.

WIN music

"All of Christendom will be awed by the victory we have won here today!"

Having bad ears...First thing I do is turn off background game music and either lower or turn off the ambiance, so I can hear combat sounds, footsteps etc.....if im on vent or teamspeak that is a MUST for me to be able to hear voice. Background noise is not a friend to people with hearing impairments...So I miss out on some of the go good stuff

That's a shame.

My older son is deaf in one ear, but the other one works superbly. He kicks ass in shooters.

Planescape Torment
Halflife 2
Diablo
Ultima - 3, 4, 5, ?, Online

Lots of old C64 games :)

The original Doom Soundtrack

Without a doubt, the soundtrack from Icewind Dale. So beautiful it gives me chills.

Hearts of Iron 1

OK it's classical stuff, still doesn't change the fact that it makes great back ground music.
