I bought a PS3 not to long ago. I was wondering if anyone could recommend any goo RPGs for the system (good JRPGs are a plus as well). I really like turn based RPGs with good visuals (although these are declining in this market :( )

Here's a list of good games that I have enjoyed a lot.

Dragon Age: Origins(plus the Awakening expansion pack)
Heavy Rain
The Uncharted series
Fallout 3 & New Vegas
The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim
The Mass Effect series (note only 2 and 3 are available on the PS3)
The Assassins Creed Series
Red Dead Redemption
L.A. Noire
The Orange Box(contains 3 Half Life games which are awesome, Team Fortress 2, and Portal(which everyone should play))
Bioshock

That's just off the top of my head, I know not one single JRPG in the bunch, but I don't like Jewish role playing games ;)

Also note that most of those games I played on the Xbox 360, while they are usually the same experience on a different console sometimes they may vary.

Buy SCHOOL DAYS HQ Collector's Edition (PC DVD-ROM)

Look at YS's list. Any of those games available on the PC should be played on the PC for better controls and better graphics and better customization in some cases. Best thing to use a PS for outside of watching Blu Rays would be playing visual novel and dating sim imports. PC gaming is massively superior to console gaming, so you need to look for console only games.

The PC elitist crap is tiring.

So you are denying that PC game versions of multi-platform games have better graphics, more moddability and better controls?

I have a very good gaming PC and all the consoles. I can safely say from measurement that PC is for MMOGs and Console is for everything else. If a game is available on PC or console, the intelligent consumer gets the console version. XBox over PS3 if there should be a choice.

I would agree that most games that can be played on the PC should be. Like Dragon Age. Having a mouse for that was really nice. Also all the spiffy mods you could download. A console doesn't allow the same flexability. On top of that, I am a pretty disappointed PS3 owner. Playstation was supposed to be the home for all the cool Japanese games... but now they don't translate nearly as many as they used to. PS3 has very few standout exclusives. By recommendation: Return it and get a Wii or a 360, depending on which games you want to play. 360 for stuff like FF13, Devil May Cry, Brutal Legend, and stuff like that. Wii for the Mario, Zelda, and Metroid type games. But for PS3? The only exclusives worth noting were God of War III and Demon's Souls, if I recall. I was very disappointed with the PS3's lineup. I use mine for playing older PS1 and 2 games much more than PS3s.

PS3 in general kinda didn't make a great impression this gen. I think they were outperformed by Microsoft in most every way. The XBox is a great console. I do like my PS3 and there are some great great games for it. But in general, multi-console games I'd take the XBox over the PS3 There's still some good ones. The Uncharted series is another excellent exclusive. I think maybe Resistance and Kill Zone were exclusive to PS3 as well and are very very solid shooters for those whom like the genre.

Better graphics- Depends on the game, some games look better on consoles since they were made for consoles, and how it looks depends entirely on your rig.
More mods- Yes there are more mods, but I don't really care about fan made mods.
Better controls- **** that, I'd much rather use an Xbox, or PS3 controller to play most games, much easier, controls better, and since most games are designed for a controller it works better than a crappy port over to the PC.

Games on the PC are designed for higher specs while the console version is dumbed down for old tech aka that custom integrated card in your console. While its true that games are being designed on a PC for the console(a ass backwards way to do it) more regularly that in no way affects games like Skyrim, mass effect, etc.

You obviously haven't played many. They lengthen the lifespan of a game and allow you to get more for your money. They make it look better, add content, expand on the existing game, and give you new ways to play the game that were not open to you before. Console games gives you what is in the box and what you can buy from the companies. They don't allow you any input into the game and don't allow you any way to make your experience last. Furthermore, when games DO allow content on the console from the community the users of consoles DO wish for more of it. I would think even they would say you know nothing about it.

The sensitivity of the PS3 controller is 1/1000 of a gaming mouse plus keyboard. How you personally feel about it means nothing, since that is just talking about what you are used too and nothing more.

I dunno, I enjoy the mods people make for some games on PC. To my understanding it's harder to mod Console games.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone. I have an Xbox 360 that my little brother mainly plays. I have Skyrim and some other games listed on there.

So far for my PS3 I have 3 games.

Atelier Totori
White Knight Chronicles 2
Trinity Universe

Also, unless it's an MMO consoles are better in my opinion ;)

Pc games are better...or I would have long long ago bought a console for me...but thats right now, who knows in the near future...PC sales are in the toilet....and I read they are at then end of their technology...meaning desktops

Portal 2 (seriously, everyone buy this game)
Infamous 1&2
Borderlands
Arkham Asylum and Arkham City
The HD remake of Ico and Shadows of Colossus

Get the Orange Box for your computer. It hasn't really been updated for consoles and is kind of dead. It is alive and well on PC, though.

You should wait and buy Grand Theft Auto V, Watch Dogs, The Last of Us, Max Payne 3, Battle field 3, Minecraft, Grand Theft Auto IV, Hit Man:Absolution, The new Far Cry, and Uncharted 3.

You should also download Beyond Good and Evil HD on the PSN, it's only 10 bucks and it's an amazing game.

Just picked it up this weekend, and can barely put it down.

never played demon souls, but dark souls was the best hack n slash game i ever played.

i bought because the reviews on the game and at its release it was labeled as the hardest game ever of its genre.but its not hard in a way that tests reflexes and button mashing, but rather through strategy and thinking ahead.infact i love how they made each boss fight 100% unique in strategy needed which made the game constantly fresh the whole way, rather than traditional hack n slash games which make progression the same fight but with more hp and damage.
