Dammit, I just ran a 4-hour run like an addict on Fish Server, and got my ass handed to me the 3 times I've played (usemap). So I'm feeling a little freaky so I just started this thread. Strategy, map sharing, you name it.

I had Starcraft 2...
Played online twice, both times against Korean players and got my ass handed to me within 5 minutes of gameplay...
I can be of no help to you lol

So I'll start off: When I'm normally playing zerg, I have almost the identical strategy-At first I try to quickly finish off the opponent, most commonly using a small combination of hydralisks and zerglings, while teching up like crazy to get mutalisks. When the initial attack fails, I settle on for the long run. Naturally, I want production up, so I'll have at a minimum of 6 hatcheries, and upgrade all the zergling upgrades (from the spawning pool, and the evolution chamber's meele and carapace). According to a mathematical study, all-up zerglings are the strongest units in Starcraft (counting delay between attacks, etc...). Zerglings cost only 50 minerals and 30 seconds to produce, and when you have only about 6 hatcheries, you'll produce a maximum of 36 zerglings per 30 second (6 hatcheries x 3 larvaes per hatchery x 2 zerlings per larvae). That's three squadrons.
Eventually you'll outproduce the opponent with your masses. If the enemy's defense is impenetrable, drop using Overlords. Use scourges (cheap in minerals also, but takes up gas) to cover for your overlords and zerglings

A Korean asking for Starcraft help?!?!?

But it's nice to have them both sometimes when I feel like raising Hell!

When starcraft2 first came out, before most other players figured it out how to counter it, one of my favorite things to do was roam around the map with ~10 infestors and spit out green blobs, even if my base was destroyed.
But I stopped playing like 2 weeks after it came out, I don't like how the game speed is always maxed out in multiplayer games. I like things super slow where I can savor every battle, not click like a crackhead.

hydras are worthless off creep. they're expensive. plus they're classified as light units so they take extra damage from colossus, hellions, etc. they should really only be built in reaction to a massive protoss air attack or if you're doing some sort of crazy all-in hydra drop. the early game should consist of mostly lings, roaches, and infestors and possibly mutalisks if you're planning on harassing (which is generally a waste of time because your apm probably isn't high enough to make it worthwhile...although you ARE korean so maybe it is).
I'd say the two biggest keys to being awesome at starcraft are
1) economy is king. You need to drone up hard in the early game. due to the nature of zerg, when you're playing as zerg versus terran or protoss, you always should be at least one (mining) base ahead of your opponent. and an extra macro hatch or two never hurts. if you're doing you're economy right, (as zerg) you'll end up floating resources, which is ok. don't go spending that **** on useless upgrades you don't need. Save it so that you can maximize zerg's natural ability to rapidly restock its army when you get in a massive engagement with your enemy. it's good to have a couple grand of minerals sitting in the bank, so when you butt heads with your terran opponent in the center of the map and completely obliterate each other's armies, you'll be able to pump out 10 ultra's in the same amount of time it takes your opponent to get out a handful of marauders.
2) scouting. noobs never scout. but intel is absolutely crucial. and not just in the early game. you need to be continually keeping tabs on your opponent. periodically send in a sacrificial overlord to see what your opponent is up to - how many bases is he on, what kind of buildings does he have (is his still on gateway? or is he teching towards robotics or templar?), and what kind of units. ultimately, you need to know what units your opponent is massing so you counter appropriately. all starcraft units have strengths and weakenesses. You see lots of colossus? start building corruptors. Lots of marine + tank but suspiciously few vikings? brood lord his ass. bio-ball? use infestors and banelings. Also, don't neglect expanding your creep. having at least 1 queen per hatch is standard and keep those suckers pooping out creep tumors. having a massive creep spread not only makes your units faster but more importantly it gives you vision and you can see any impending attacks long before they hit you.
mastering the game mechanics is also very imporant. grouping units and assigning a call number, learning the hot keys for units special abilities, how to stack commands, that sort of thing. but that **** is boring and tedious and not worth my time imho.
oh yeah. the most important key to being awesome at starcraft: play as terran.

I used to play SC1, I hear a lot of functions are now automated, like collector units will automatically start mining minerals.
Sad they got rid of lurkers. My favorite unit.
