Apparently the future of CoD is ...Ghost Recon.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 – A Bold New Future - PC Preview at IGN

It's really too bad, I was really interested in this game. I know franchises need to evolve to survive, and CoD has been criticized (Somewhat unfairly, I think.) for being overly formulaic, but it looks like Treyarch went totally off the rails. Major bummer.

Sounds somewhat interesting, based on the article.

But I don't play that game type much, so it's not worth it buying the new version that comes out every month.

Reminds me of some terminator ****.

I love the single player version of the call of duty games. So I am looking forward to this.

problem is that the cod franchise has worn out modern warfare, before that they wore out the whole ww2 thing.black ops was alot of fun and different than the other cod games for single player, even though its multiplayer was terrible.

im waiting for the mad rush to make vietnam korean war ww1 and civil war games, because they have worn everything else out.

I'm curious about something...

I have a friend who dislikes FPS games who use hitscan...but I'm not 100% sure what he means.

I got sick of COD after MM2. I was tired of the formulaic game-play and silliness dressed up as being epic. It was like playing a Michael Bay movie. This game does promise change, though. It looks a lot less formulaic, and the branching paths seems cool. I still don't know if I can get over the Michael Bay-ness. I'll have to play this game at a friend's house to find out if its worth playing.

I'm a ghost recon fan, and CoD (both IW and Treyarch) have gotten completely too arcadey for me.

Treyarch was very bad at the CoD series...they had their moments (zombies), but I never liked their graphics. It feels like they never left 2002 for me.

I will probably by the game though. Dought.

Anyone not see this yet? It's got 24 million views.

The Future of First Person Shooter games.

I really enjoy players spawning in behind me in PVP matches. Think I played a total of 5 COD PVP maps; the COD-MW came free with the video card.

I played the first COD and liked it alot...I played the second for awhile and got distracted and never went back..

I think its looks alright plus they needed to spice it up a little! I got bored of MW3 after about one week, dont even think I played on all the multiplayer maps
