Diablo III Launching May 15

Anyone played the Beta? I've heard not so great things about it.

I have played it off and on for about 6 months, it is a typical hack and slash pretty similar to D2. If that is your sorta game you would probably enjoy it. Personally I find it grows rather stale in a short amount of time.

I played the beta starting day one molten...I played it two days and uninstalled it...mind you I never played any of the previous Diablos...I couldnt stand the movement...click move click move and the narrow line of sight....just was not my cup of tea....

I have friends playing beta and they either love it or hate it. Most agree though it is easier than D2.. which is turning off a lot of people. Its looking like an expensive game that will last maybe a few days of actual play time.. much like the last big release from Bilzzard.. StarCraft 2.

I tried D2 very briefly, just not my kinda game, I can understand why some people are excited about D3, watched alot of the trailers anyway and they were fantastic but I will not be partaking in the game.

Have fun to whoever will :2wave:

The Diablo series is basically a lottery for virtual items. The entire appeal of the game is getting them to hawk or show off, or I guess from the inner satisfaction of having "complete and perfect" item sets for all your characters.

Personally, I prefer story-driven role-playing or strategy games, and wouldn't bother with Diablo at all if not for the fact most of my friends love the lottery system.

I was really excited for this game 6 months ago...now I will check it out on release day, but I am pretty sure I won't be buying it.

I will be there May 15, anyone else? I will add you to my friends list.

I will try. I need to repair a laptop and build a majority of a new new desktop.

Im stuck getting it for free...I signed up for the wow deal...Ill dl it and it will sit on my desktop uninstalled...I personally dont like games with that type of movement....to me thats 12 yr old technology...they couldve changed it for D3

alotof the appeal of the diablo series especially diablo 2 was the customization through random items, and pvp.

before diablo 2 v1.10 pvp was an on again off again thing due to hacking, but early v1.10 was nearly hack free for a long time.the end problem became that people figured out how bypass cheat prevention, and it ultimately killed the pvp in d2,going from hundreds of pvp games to maybe 2 or 3 at a time.odd thing is this also killed diablo 1.

diablo 3 seemed really fun during the open beta, and it looks like they made the game server side instead of client side like the last 2,which will make hacking alot harder and more detectable, though bots will still probably remain.

what gets me is that the pvp i heard was going to be cage pvp instead of open pvp like diablo 2,which was what literally made the game playable more than a week.

My wife and I played the beta to death. I like it. It's a great iteration of D2 in the modern times. Can't wait for the release. Sleep will be in shirt supply nest week.

You heard correctly.

Due to the $ auction house they are keeping it online play only. Crucial game information will be stored server side so it is not so easy hacked. Anyone that has played D2 know well the dupe and hacking issues it had.

Crap! The only reason I went online for D2 was to just see what it was like. I MUCH prefer playing diablo off line. Also if they ever take the diablo server offline they had damn well better put a patch in that makes the game playable without the internet. I absolutely HATE when a company puts out an online only game and then a couple of years later pulls the plug on the servers making that game effectively unplayable.

B.S.

In Diablo 2 if you played offline you simply used an offline character so you can dupe and cheat till your heart's content.
