Microsoft Office costs around $200, and you are supposed to pay for the Windows OS too... another $200 (I'm rounding the numbers) then you pay for the game(s) at $50 a pop. I've yet to find something that Open Office doesn't do that MS Office does, oh and Open Office ... also free." If "games" are that important to you and you're more than happy getting screwed by Microsoft to play them - you certainly have the opportunity and freedom of choice to continue paying through the nose for insecure junk. Microsoft needs folks like you Pete - you're part of their business plan!
Aww did I hurt your feelings by calling Linux useless? Facts hurt eh? Linux is useless to most people because it does not act like Windows. They cant run office, and Open office is too alien a step for them. Finding files and what not in Linux is horrible, and installing programs not found in their distribution is hell on earth. Face it, Linux sucks for the average Joe. And from your comments...then you are a typical Linux nerd that is in total denial over reality.. I have been debating people like you since windows 95 came out and the arguments from your side has been the same since day one.. and has never changed..
And games do matter.. games are a huge consumer product and it all started in large part on the PC. And certain games can really only be played on a PC since they require a keyboard.
And Linux Mint > Ubuntu just so you know.
