Sorry, I didn't see you had a gaming sub-forum, could you move this to there?

I subscribed to wwiionline for about 60 months, 5 years cumulative. I haven't played for like 15 months, I'm abstaining from my addiction.

Their Ninja-skills of camping Bertrix Airfield are admirable but a strategic waste of time. In case anyone is wondering, strategy trumps tactics, especially in a videogame, especially...

Cry HAVOC, and HAVOC and havoc and havoc and havoc and havoc and havoc, and something about Dogs of War.

The importance of flanking your enemy

Zerg attack. MOOOOOOOOOOOVVVVVVVVEEEEEE!!!!!!!

The tactical amateurish of these players is astounding. You can dominate these guys easily. The game has been out since 2001, while graphics have improved, the basic tactical gameplay has not.

Moderator's Warning:
I will taxi to victory!

Thread moved, and the reference had to be made. Wonder if any catch it.

The situational awareness of tanks, especially tanks on the move, is JACK SQUAT!

Good info for infantry. :)

Don't play easymode, play LUFTWAFFE!!!!

NOW THIS IS A DOGFIGHT VIDEO!

"They (allies) were probably talking **** on the way in." LOL!

Sorry, my geek-opedia is out of date, could you summarize?

Lum(Scott Jennings) was some one who has worked in online gaming since Ultima Online and was one of the first to run his own gaming blog/forum kinda thing. When WW2Online came out, it was broken. Servers where down, manual was incomprehensible, every smallest thing had to be done with esoteric hotkey combinations. Day of release, Lum had a IRC chat going as they played the game offline(servers where all down) as they joked around trying to figure out how to do things. Towards the end, Lum tried to fly a plane, but could not get it to take off, hence his classic line "I WILL TAXI TO VICTORY!".

lock the tailwheel.

I bought it when it first came out too. Took 10 minutes to boot up, staring at the halftrack screen, and would crash in like 2 minutes usually by clipping through the earth. I waited 6 months then came back.

Think you're bad?

Try glide bombing a target you can't see until you're on top of it, or have to make multiple passes to acquire targets while enemy EA are all over you're 6

...or being chased by a spit, in a stuka, while simultaneously being shot at with anti aircraft guns on the ground and surviving. You learn real quick why A-10's are constantly changing vectors.

And then try level bombing where you constantly have to adjust your adjusted velocity due to altitude, and adjusted altitude due to elevation.

P.S I been away if it has already been answered.

*sighs* there's nothing dynamic about point spawn points that have been fixed to a geographical location since 2001. You know that's the problem with every FPS game that comes out, fixed spawn points, fixed spawn points even makes wow-clone PVP goofy as hell. This has been going on since the ancient 1990's Capture The Flag system for Quake 1 PVP.

All of these ideas don't add anything to the value of game play. Sword of +2 uberness is not better than Sword of +1 uberness, because the mob you're attacking is also +1 uberness. Y'all that dumb? Same thing with WWIIONLINE.

"Oh goody we got new Tiger I tanks, aren't we cool."

The allies also got the Sherman 76, so you didn't really gain anything comparatively speaking. So what.

This is depressing

"We got the FW190 now! Butcher bird here we come!"

So what, allies also got the Spit XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXI at the same time. Again, you didn't really gain anything.

PVP should have meaning and context, capture the flag don't do it for me, I have no emotional attachment to 1-bit on a server somewhere that says on or off.
