Mod Team | I only bring this up because it was a question I had at one time that others might have. In the event that you have two users in the same household (like stace and caine), is there a procedure for notifying the mods and making sure that their IP addresses arent flagged for action? |

Obviously, we cannot tell if caine is clicking the submit button (hypothetically). But we have means to determine if the same computer was used. Beyond the IP address. |

How should they go about clearing that with you guys? |

Current Mood: | Re: Rule #12 updated Am I to understand correctly that this will be left up to an individual moderator's discretion without a discussion or chance to explain one's self?
Let's say hypothetically, my wife wants to see what I have been doing without me knowing. She signs up without my knowledge. A mod who doesn't care for me finds out and deletes us both.
I understand the reason behind this rule. I just don't understand why a member would have no recourse. I know who this amending is designed for. I just don't understand why others have to be subjected to an "activist" mod. I am not trying to impugn the integrity of our mods, but they are human. With that being said, the lack of transparency can lead to mistakes. We are all adults here and should be able to debate things on a debate forum.
I understand that secrecy is supposed to free up mods to be honest. It also opens them up to be dishonest. Of course, how would we know? I don't understand why the mods can't be honest and transparent. What can possibly happen to them if they say something that is not popular? The fact that we can't discuss a situation concerning a member's banning is troubling. Please tell me where I am wrong.

Current Mood: | Re: Rule #12 updated No worries, A PM is sent to the user(s) *before* any action is taken on multiple accounts. If we know that your spouse will create an account - no worries.
The discretion here is meant to say that if a mod found an issue with a user/account ( and can prove it, we can take action immediately. Upon that action we can decide the level of infraction.). Else, we will create a thread in the mod team forum about a possible action on XYZ. That thread can sometimes take days to find a resolution. Every action we do is logged, re-logged and posted in a hidden forum for discussion. This allows us as a team to validate and question each and every mod activity. Each mod action is up for question among the team.
In short, we do our best to walk the talk and try to side on the error of members first and foremost. |

No one will be summarily banned over this without a chance to explain. Of this I have no doubt.
However, if your spouse or kid or whoever is gonna start an account at your house, it may be wise to give a heads up via email or pm to save yourself and the mods some troubles.
