NYT: U.S. link to Uganda ?death for gays? bill? - The New York Times- msnbc.com

wow....do these people ever realize the consequences of their hate and lies?

One need not defend what those morons said in any way, shape, or form to observe that Uganda does not come off in any shade of well here.

Wow. That article should be classified an op ed piece.

No evidence at all that those 3 men said gays should be killed yet they make the connection anyway.

And the OP bought into it too. Sad.

BTW liblady, to you have any proof they told any lies? If so please present it now or apologize for the accusation.

It does not actually say or suggest that when speaking they said gays should be killed that I see, only that the bill was in part a result of their time there, that the bill was drafted by the people that organized the speakers trip, and that one of them met with lawmakers to discuss the bill. It's not an op ed piece. What part of the article do you consider untrue? Please quote it for me.

BTW, what you conveniently left off from the article:

“I feel duped,” Mr. Schmierer said, arguing that he had been invited to speak on “parenting skills” for families with gay children. He acknowledged telling audiences how homosexuals could be converted into heterosexuals, but he said he had no idea some Ugandans were contemplating the death penalty for homosexuality.

“That’s horrible, absolutely horrible,” he said. “Some of the nicest people I have ever met are gay people.”
