Now that's a movement.

Terminations are currently permitted in Poland, where 87 per cent of the population identify as Catholic, only when the life of the foetus is under threat, when there is a grave threat to the health of the mother, or when the pregnancy resulted from rape or incest.

If the proposed ban were enacted, all terminations would be criminalised and women who had abortions could be sent to prison for up to five years. Doctors found to have assisted with a termination would also be liable for prosecution and a prison sentence.

Ya' gotta remember, in Gdansk in 1989 these are the guys (the Poles) that were the precipice that brought down the U.S.S.R.! Revolution (and stubbornness) is in the Polish blood!

And I'd like to think I often enough fit right-in!

And my Mom's So. Italian blood doesn't help, either. Her side generally sees government as a foreign entity, encroaching upon their familial, economic, and social governing structure!

IOW - government competes with *them*!

Yeah, a bowel movement.

Now that's a movement.

Explain to me why we should listen to 6 million (or any number of) people? All this tells me is that you are all easily swayed. Not good. Not good at all.

What we should all do is decide right now to do the right thing. Not be swayed by a bunch of selfish people.

Criminalizing women...especially poor women...was the straw that broke the camels back. Shades of Sharia law.

The Poles are very good at forming a solidarity to get what they want, imo. So it will be interesting to see how this protest plays out.

why not, so many anti abortionists listen to just 1 priest or 1 verse in an ancient book

sounds easily swayed. Not good. Not good at all

Well, we won't be listening to you. That's for sure.
