Currently a lot of states have extreme limitations on the time a woman is allowed to have an abortion. I think we need to extend them to help with over-population.

Right now the planet can't sustain all these people so we need to take a hard look at allowing parents to abort children in their early years if the parents feel that child may create problems for society due to behavior problems. Having community councils to decide if the child is likely to benefit society or not could also heavily reduce crime and increase graduation rates if the minor new they could be aborted before they turn 18 for not conforming to society's standard.

These abortions should of course be humane and painless and publicly funded to ensure equal access for all.

Interesting.

In Canada, there are "zero" restrictions on abortion. Yet the percentages of women who have them have only a slight higher percentage of abortion in the first 12 weeks or less than do women in the U.S.

So the "extreme" limitations set by some state are really moot, in the grander scheme of things. Such limitations are a dog and pony show for states that have higher numbers of pro-life advocates, who have managed to seat folks in government who subscribe to their believes.

But in the end, there's a couple of S.C. decisions (Roe v Wade and Planned Parenthood v Casey 1992) that foil these states postering their delusions of grandeur that they will actually end abortion in their states altogether. The hard-right legislators keep dangling that carrot over the constitutes knowing that they are perpetuating false hope. It keeps them in office. And actually their dishonesty is the same as robbing the taxpayers.

I think you've been trolled.

There's no way the OP is serious. No way.

Yep, agree, and I trolled back.

a) Like he sounds any different then you do with your constant population growth Malthusian whinging in thread after thread. This is just par for the course stuff for your community here on this forum.

b) You literally just admitted to trolling upstairs, fam.

I so rarely reply to your posts. This is the first that I've made in a very long time to you.

So here is my official reply: Report me.

I so rarely reply to your posts.

And while I thank you for that and your lack of salient rebuttal, as always, if you would only just stop saying these wrong things I wouldn't have to correct the posts you make which aren't replies to me.

I can get behind eliminating restrictions on abortion, I really can. But when you advocated killing children for not conforming to society, you lost me. This is basically capital punishment which in 2005 the supreme court ruled that applying such to anyone other than a mentally capable adult who committed murder is a violation of the eighth.

Also, overpopulation is expected to occur in less developed countries, not America. History also shows that when a country develops, its fertility rate drops. In fact, despite our increasing population, the growth rate reached its peak at around the turn of the new millennium and it won't double from that number (6 billion) until past 2100. According to projections, a majority of population growth between now and 2100 is projected to come from Africa. Africa is projected to hold 4 billion (has 1 billion now) by 2100 and has a total area of 11.73 million miles. Plugging the numbers in, the population density is approximately that of China's (and on top of that, africa is more fertile than china).

If you tell me humanness begins at conception you lost ME.
