I too remember the flat over the coming ICE AGE and for the people who listen to Parawacko Radio they get to hear, the earth is heating up one day and getting coler the next.

What troubles me is there are actual legitimate environmental issues we could be addressing without all BS hype from the fringe environmental groups who are now just in it for the money as shown in the protests our the construction of SOLAR & WIND projects they were claiming were going to help just a few years ago. Now those same projects might hurt some heretofore unknown lizard of butterfly that might fly it's way into harm or some other BS.

Today the resistance comes because of the fear tactics that over inflate the issues and the politicians being in bed with the wackos while looking for a way to tax anything that comes along.

There are logical solutions to all of the issues and they don't require that we tax the living hell out of anyone, and jobs could be created in industries that are clean.

Hell I would love to have a car to drive like the Tesla and would guess most people would love one if they knew the performance statistics. They just cost too damn much right now.

The hysteria is the problem along with the need to control on some people's parts. Clear away the greed remove the fringe groups use just the little of the most uncommon commodity in Politics, that being common sense and the fixes could begin almost tomorrow. But the so called experts don't really want cures or we would see them.

A line in the old Movie attributed to the Toni Curtis character perfectly describes the way the environmental groups have come to think. This is; "In confusion there is profit", and he was so right.

If I thought it would do any good I'd go back to passing on solutions to those in power but they don't pay any attention to anyone but lobbyists who can funnel money either under the table or over it into campaign funds where it can be siphoned off.

So i say the best thing to do is just say not no but HELL NO to things like Cap and Trade that not going to help in 100 years and find a way to get some people in office who can think for then selves and work directly on the problems and stop throwing good money down the drain for BS solutions that don't begin to address the problems and only raise taxes to waste or redistribute as part of the Socialist/Marxist agenda.

Common sense? What are the "common sense" solutions?? Many of the so called "fringe" agree that cap and trade is a waste of time and prefer this solution: I agree

ALLAN ZABEL: Well, fundamentally, it’s twofold. One is the inclusion of the offsets. I mean, we think that that really locks in climate degradation. But the second is that we don’t think that cap and trade really is ultimately a good or effective mechanism, because, as was experienced in Europe, where cap and trade did fail for climate change, it produces price volatility and all sorts of gaming potentials, which are not good for economic activity. If you’re going to get people to invest in clean energy, businesspeople need certainty. They need to know that their investments in clean energy are going to be profitable. And cap and trade doesn’t provide that certainty....

As for the O.P., it sounds as though the right wing fringe is desperate: hacking and stringing words out of context.

The point is for you Global warming deniers is you have to somehow prove burning carbon doesnt increase temperatures over time. The question isnt "if?" its "how much?" and "what will the effects be?"

well with such a bold claim, maybe you would care to refute the links I posted immediately above your rant

The solutions to all of the problems would take a very long time to explain but let's look a couple simple ones. These address the Economy/Jobs and the Environment and Health Care, with a little Home land security and law and order thrown in. Call it wish list.

First order of business an Executive Order if possible and legal to force all defense contracts to be only with American companies or with allies who have always been on our side from WWII until now, and even then 90% must be manufactured here.
Finance charges of 10%APR or less on all American made products only, over $1000 will be 50% deductible, items that cost over $2000 will be 75% deductible.

All Auto purchases of American made only Hybrid and Electric cars finance charges will be 100% deductible and all Federal taxes waved (not deductible) so that they are not included in finance charges. End the phony practice of rebates because they amount to loans that end up being financed. If a dealer wants to offer a deal it must be a price reduction.

All internal combustion engines other than those used in hybrids must be phased out over 10 years with the exception of diesels for trucking and diesels used on trains and ships.

All boat motors must become hybrids within 7 years.

Purchase of American made only Solar panels will be 30% deductible over the first 5 years with finance charges on purchases of $10,000oor more will be50% deductible for the first 5 years then be 20% deductible there after.

The construction of of Solar and Wind Generation farms will permitted and not subject interference from groups outside the federal Government unless they can prove beyond any doubt that the construction would cost more than the benefit no other action would be allowed to stop construction unless it could be proven the irreparable permanent damage to humans only would be caused.

A federal law that would make it illegal to prohibit the installation of personal use solar panels on any roof by any home owners associations or city ordinance.

Any American made product costing over $500 that carries a federal tax will have that tax reduced by 50%, for the next 4 years then reviewed to see if the tax reduction should continue and for what period.

As to Health Care I would push for a federal malpractice insurance. I would push for Federal reasonable limits on malpractice judgments that match the amount actual losses and or earning potential and a flat punitive damages and jail time and or loss of license for Doctors that are guilty of gross negligence.

Force states to open up to all insurance companies.

Reduce restrictions and limits on farm production and remove subsidies for non production and remove all price controls and let the free market work on things like Milk.

I would also start to bring federal charges on any state or local Official who fails to enforce the immigration laws and create sanctuary cities and where applicable the Mayor and City council should be charged and Jailed.

This would include failure to fine employers $20,000 for every illegal hired who was not checked through a national data base. Any disclosure or other use of this data base would mandate 10 years in Federal Prison.
These are just a few Ideas for starters. They might need some tweaking but I believe these would make a good start.
