Re: Jellyfish Swarm Northward in Warming World

"Trenberth and Willis agree that a few mild years have no effect on the long-term trend of global warming. But they say there are still things to learn about how our planet copes with the heat. "

How about when the "few" mild years (aka cooler years) turns into a decade?

Isn't it obvious? The Jellyfish carried the warm water deeper into the ocean. Haven't you been paying attention? Dude... all your jellyfish belong to us.

I don't know about no jellies.

I swim through the trench, not over it.

Re: Jellyfish Swarm Northward in Warming World

Remember, the laws of physics are no barrier for the AGW magicians (aka scientists by the true believers). It's amazing how often I've watched AGW proponents put up NASA data when they felt that it supported their cause... and then they ignore James Hanson's latest "adjustment" that might appear on the NY Times page 29! Now that the oceans are slightly cooler (NASA data, no less), when IPCC models predicted that it would be much warmer by now, it's just a "speed bump" in the AGW theory.

The scientist cited in Gill's link had to admit that there was oceanic cooling, but then he tries to throw things like El Nino in as if it is sucking the heat out of the ocean. Hey AGW true believers: The heat capacity of the oceans dwarfs the heat capacity of the atmosphere. Therefore, the true heat sink of the planet is the oceans. If they are getting slightly cooler over several years, this is the mark of a trend (not a couple of errant data points). The planet must be getting... gasp... cooler!
