Al Gore's Inconvenient Truth sequel stresses spiritual argument on climate

Source [Guardian | Al Gore's Inconvenient Truth sequel stresses spiritual argument on climate change]

Quote:
Al's Gore's much-anticipated sequel to An Inconvenent Truth is published today, with an admission that facts alone will not persuade Americans to act on global warming and that appealing to their spiritual side is the way forward.

In his latest book, Our Choice: A Plan to Solve the Climate Crisis, the man who won a Nobel prize in 2007 for his touring slideshow on disappearing polar ice and other consequences of climate change, concludes: "Simply laying out the facts won't work."

Instead, Gore tells Newsweek magazine in a pre-publication interview, that he has been adapting his fact-based message - now put out by hundreds of volunteers - to appeal to those who believe there is a moral or religious duty to protect the planet.

"I've done a Christian [-based] training program; I have a Muslim training program and a Jewish training program coming up, also a Hindu program coming up. I trained 200 Christian ministers and lay leaders here in Nashville in a version of the slide show that is filled with scriptural references. It's probably my favourite version, but I don't use it very often because it can come off as proselytising," Gore tells Newsweek.

This is gonna be hilarious. Picture Fred Phelps carefully laying out a scientific argument to show that god hates homosexuals. Can't wait to see the response from the christian right

Re: Al Gore's Inconvenient Truth sequel stresses spiritual argument on climate

Al Gore is delusional. Th Earth could enter an ice age tomorrow and he'd still go to his grave pushing AGW-theory.

The IPCC models on climate change are predictions of the future which are based upon nothing more than correlative (NOT CAUSAL) evidence. The models have already been falsified by the recent "pause" in warming, which makes said models utterly irrelevant.

Alarmists need to stop pretending that AGW is an open-and-shut-case. They also need to stop talking about scientific "concencus", which is an oxymoron.

At this point in the game Al Gore is an albatross about the neck of the Global Warming debate. Which of course is now in its third iteration, climate change. This becomes necessary when predictions and claims gone wrong begin to pile up and not in a way that leaves those making "scientific" arguments wanting to acknowledge the same.

And the kazoo band played on............

To say that the sequel stresses a spiritual argument ignores the fact that the whole so-called "scientific" IPCC-backed endeavor has always been run like an intolerant multinational religious movement. They say that Islam is the religion with the greatest numbers... perhaps AlGorean AGW has Islam beat!

It is a happy moment to finally here the confession from the Nobel father of environmentalism that climate change is a religious movement. We've known this all along, not only that it is a socialist agenda.

Quote:
"With the collapse of Marxism, environmentalism has become the new refuge of socialist thinking. The environment is a great way to advance a political agenda that favors central planning and an intrusive government. What better way to control someone's property than to subordinate one's private property rights to environmental concerns." -- Rush Limbaugh
