May Had Fourth Coldest Globar Temperatures

May is the continuation of at least 6 years of dropping global temperatures, and a case could be made that temperatures have dropped for 10 years now.

The graph above shows how the three major temperature records have all shown decreases since at least 2002.

In other news, Solar Cycle 24 has not gotten off to a great start since the sun is virtually spotless and has been for many months now. That does not bode well for our climate.

Ok, I'll throw you a bone here. That we are having a cooler year than normal is not really concerning at all in and of itself. After all, no one was predicting that Global Warming would mean the end of weather and short term climate variability.

That said, the one thing that strikes me about the cool down so far this year, is that I remember a couple of years ago some scientists with the Russian Academy of Sciences predicting a global cool down.

If a trend develops over the next few years, that could cause much of the scientific community to revisit everything we thought we knew about long term climate modeling.

Actually several Russian scientists predicted this several years ago and have written papers on it. I posted a link and some quotes from one a year or so ago and was called a boob by jfuh for it. If I remember correctly, he stated that the Russians were idiots and knew nothing about science (I'm paraphrasing).

June isn't off to the best of starts either. Still snowing in some parts of the country this morning. And we have still had frost advisories here up until this week. Higher gas prices certainley affect food prices, but so do shortened growing seasons due to cooler temperatures.

Yes, NASA and I both certainly agree that we're heading into a global ice age. In fact, a snowflake fell in northern Ontario today, so Algore must be outta his tree, LOL!!!

And La Nina... screw that. Doesn't mean a thing. It's getting cooler and it has nothing to do with that.

Hmmm, I wonder who is correct???? NASA's outlier temperature data wouldn't be because Hansen has all his professional eggs in one basket would it??

Yes, La Nina.... and Pacific Decadal Oscillation... and Total Solar Irradiance... and sunspot numbers.... and on and on and on....

Hint: It's called climate variation.

And El Nino.. screw that, had nothing to do with the temperatures during the brief warming period between 1980 and 1998 did it??

Here's a graphic showing how NASA's temperature trend is diverging from the other global temperature records.

In case you're wondering why there is such a large difference in the temperature data between the two satellite measuring systems and NASA, here's a hint:

This is NASA's temperature measurement sites globally. ALL of the gray areas indicate where NASA has no measurement devices.

Here's a graphic from UAH with their global coverage. Isn't it interesting that many of the locations where NASA has no coverage, the satellites show cooler temperatures. It's no wonder NASA sees no cooling... they are looking in the wrong places.

Where is the downward trend on here???

BTW, based-on what I've read so far, surface temperature readings are far far more accurate than satellite. I will post some excellent quotes later this weekend.

This spring felt a bit cool, but I'm not worrying just yet, nor will I with the upcoming heat wave.
