The surge alone probably is misunderstood. To respond to the question, yes it is working. Is it the final blow,no and was never intended to be. Since good news is rarely put across our airwaves I will insert a little here. The taliban is commiting suicicde by 1) being a disorganized (though we have heard they are getting more organized; more organized than what?) band of terrorists 2) spreading themselves too thin 3) too thin reduces dedication to any and every cause and is against every point of any military tactic 4) too thin opens up the door for infiltrators 5) terroists have one thing; terror 6) terror against a super military that is determined to stay will never claim a military victory 7) last point and a major one; terror "groups" are just that because their cause is not great enough to recruit civilians in large enough numbers to create a standing army.
