Straw stands by Muslim veil comments

Maybe they should watch the discovery channel so they can learn how to built catapults..
Or maybe the “Myth Busters” that way then can learn how to build a chicken cannon..........;)

I am sorry that my sig seems to have been so misunderstood.

What I was trying to represent through the sig is the powerlessness that exists amongst oppressed and/or disenfranchised people.

For example, the Palistinians have the right to vote democratically - but what use is that when Israel and the USA refuse to recognise Democracy? Because in this day and age there is only one version of Democracy - one that is forced and imposed.

This situation is just one of many that presently exist.

Its not that you don’t have a right to live in a Democracy, its that you elected a terrorist group that never has nor ever will live in peace.

When the people of Palestine stand up and put an end to teaching kids how great it is to be a martyr, stop allowing yourselves to be the “poster boy” for the Arab world and stop allowing the Arab world to dictate how you live i.e. the violence.
You will find peace and furthermore the world will stand behind you.
Until then your on your own…

When I am in Japan I remove my shoes at the entrance to a home as it is the local custom and tradition. When I visit a Palestinian home I drink the sweet tea I am offered because it is the local custom and tradition. I just think it's disrespectful for a guest to ignore the customs and traditions of the host.

That cuts both ways though. If i had strict Muslims round i wouldnt crack open a of bottle of wine. As this womens MP/representative Staw should have been acomodateing. Surely in order to represent his consitutents he should be making himself aprochable rather then laying insensitive demands on those that visit him. Straw works for her, not visa versa.

"Raw"

Why was he talking to a woman anyway?
In her own culture she should be seen behind a veil and not heard anyway.
