Anybody watching? So far I think Christie has got the best of Rubio so far and Trump is looking like the ass that he is.

I am and Kasick just got props from me. He's the only one on that stage who has explained what real Conservatism should look like. What Rubio and Trump, for example, just outlined by defining Conservatism simply as "limited government" isn't Conservatism. That's Liberalism.

I think people really need to listen to Kasick alot more. Folks think he's passive, but he's the only one whose really worked across the isle and accomplished good work in his state of Ohio.

Rubio is a lightweight, Christie is the RNC junkyard dog, Bush would rather dump on Trump than follow the rules, Trump has made very good points...especially about the motivation of the audience.

This debate has been very entertaining.

Trump lost support when he attacked the crowd essentially claiming they only got there by buying their tickets from lobbyist.

Remind me again when our military was gutted?

maybe so but I still believe the strongest ticket going would be Katich-Rubio

Spending less does not equal gutting.

Sure it does, unless you think the government is 4 times more efficient at spending money than it was 3 decades ago

It hasn't. Unfortunately, people misinterpret what the Budget Control Act really did where defense spending is concerned. Our military wasn't gutted. It's true that defense spending was reduced, but most of that reduction was due to the military draw down in Iraq and Afghanistan. Only those funds that were being spent to suppor those war efforts were reduced once force levels were reduced.

We still spent billions on weapons development, ship building and innovative fighter jets that are years ahead in technology from all other nations. In fact, even with the defense cuts that did go into effect the U.S. still spends far more than any other nation on our military.

Sure it does,

No it doesn't. When you spend a **** ton more than that of your enemies but now spend not quite as much of a **** ton then they do it's not gutting.

The government has never been efficient at spending money.

Yep. I can't figure out why Kasich isn't catching on.

Trump's best debate yet, IMO.

When the Kenyan, Muslim Marxist took over to do nothing but play golf in Hawaii and ram his failed healthcare system down everyone's throat. :)

Yep. I can't figure out why Kasich isn't catching on.

Because he's been out of the national eye for too long and because he can't decide whether he's a moderate or conservative and refuses to commit to either.

Well, he has been kind of busy putting Ohio back on the right track. Kasich did a very good job here.

No doubt but he's a moderate and instead of running on how his way worked he's trying to reinvent himself which is pretty phony to most people when he has been in politics for so long.

He's not catching on because in all of the previous GOP debates, he really hadn't been given ample time to talk. Moreover, the media only talks about the top candidate and whomever is in second place - Trump and Jeb, Trump and Carson, Trump and Cruz - or anyone else who has name recognition - Fiorina, Rubio, Christi, Rand Paul. But for the first time, ABC has given fair air time to all the candidates. They've spread the questions around and allow multiple candidates to answer the same question, as necessary. Frankly as an aside, I think ABC has done the best job at moderating these debates than any other network.

To me he just doesn't come across as very presidential. I agree with him a lot and I agree that he's done a good job in Ohio. For me the president's first job is putting a face on the nation internationally and I think the other leaders would be able to push him around. I do, however, think he'd be a great VP choice.

I can't speak on what "his way" is. All I can say is his answer on Conservatism should've perked people's ears because he got it 100%! Conservative principles should always lift people up, never cut them down and leave them out to dry. Unfortunately, much of what you hear from the Conservative Wing of the GOP is more about business interests and less about solving problems that help lift people up.

What you're speaking about is "temperment". I can see that with Kasick. In this debate, however, he's doing the best job tonight. He's essentially saying to folks "the partisanship has to stop! If you want this country to get back on the right track, elect a guy who is not only willing to listen to both sides but is also willing to push for what he believes and do what's right for the country."

IMO, what he was aiming for was to say, "I'm not a nut like Trump, Cruz or Rubio." He just couldn't come out and say that. So, whatever he is saying comes out sounding...well, weird.
