Kirk Mock Duckworth's Mixed-Race Background

So between racism and bigotry....although different....don't they both hold an appropriately negative connotation?

While both negative, racism (appropriately) holds a much more negative connotation than bigotry which is why it has become common place to use the word racist in place of bigot to maximize the negative effect. Either that or most people have the IQ of a pet rock.

I use bigot when I mean bigot. I say racist if it is about one's race. Both hold equally crappy connotations to me.

Why would racist have a more negative connotation than bigot?
