So much for "compromise is a relativist liberal value" conservatism.

Hannity: I've 'evolved' on immigration and support a 'pathway to citizenship' - POLITICO.com

“It’s simple to me to fix it,” Hannity said. “I think you control the border first. You create a pathway for those people that are here — you don’t say you’ve got to go home. And that is a position that I’ve evolved on. Because, you know what, it’s got to be resolved. The majority of people here, if some people have criminal records you can send them home, but if people are here, law-abiding, participating for years, their kids are born here, you know, first secure the border, pathway to citizenship, done.”

“You can’t let the problem continue — it’s got to stop,” the conservative radio host added.

i hope we get some compromise. we need more blue dogs and moderate republicans than we need marxists and facists. lets get back to the reagan and the early clinton years when compromise happened, and was supported, by many big players on both sides.

in concrete terms that means

1) republicans give in, accept higher taxes (reagan tax rates) on rich people, and move on.
2) democrats give in, accept cuts in social programs (clinton cuts), and move on
3) militarists give in, accept that we need to stop being team america world police, and move on
4) ******s give in, and accept that we still need a huge/powerful military anyway, because there are interests we need to protect regardless of whether we feel like being global policemen or not.
5) get me flamed by the right and the left for suggesting compromise as something other than a 4 letter word, and that neither party is the agent of satan.
