At this rate of growth, Libertarians will take Congress in 30,000 years.

And I am proud to say that one of those votes was mine. :)

That's what happens when a large number of voters detest the current president, but are given another crappy candidate to vote for.

So?

.....

What did it take to be the most voted libertarian candidate? About 5 votes?

I wasn’t even close to detesting the current President. But there is definitely something to the later. Notice the States that Johnson did well in. States where an Obama vote is just as much a “waste” as a Johnson vote. I find Johnson appealing in so many ways that I found Romney revolting.

Further IMO Johnson was far more an actual libertarian than the Libertarian Party has had for a candidate in some time. Ironic, I know. But Bob Barr? Really?

The only useful amount then was in New Mexico. We could ignore the rest, and should. No, wait, scratch that, we should ignore their contributions in New Mexico. It wouldn't matter.

While the progress is slim, it still shows that Americans are open to the idea of real change, and the popularity of the party is growing. Hopefully we will be seeing a more even ballot in the future, 3rd party needs to utilize social networking and such to get their message out.

Actually, where I can be wrong is in potential impact in Florida and Ohio. It isn't enough to carry the election, and you have to consider potential loss of votes as a results of catering to Libertarians, but you may actually have a slight point in this if you had pursued it from this angle.

Your math sucks.

Heaing that from a libertarian, and their gold standard hackery, is a compliment.

In any case, if you want to count libertarian votes now or in 30,000 years, I'm betting they and Ayn Rand will still remain a stronghold only of adolescent males.

What did you change by that vote?

It's called baby steps to something better. The Dem/Rep Duopoly is the real threat to freedom.

Being outspent is not as much of an excuse anymore. The Dean and Obama campaigns showed you a path forward to make serious dents in more institutionalized money. You folks face an enormous challenge, yes, but you have to be a bit more optimistic in new fandangled fundraising techniques and technologies.

Over 200,000 more than the previous record, actually.
