Compromise? or a civil war? [W: 83, 101]

Re: Compromise? or a civil war?

Obama's head strategist Valerie Jarrett has been reported as saying the following right before Obama managed to win the election despite his many failures

“After we win this election, it’s our turn. Payback time. Everyone not with us is against us and they better be ready because we don’t forget. The ones who helped us will be rewarded, the ones who opposed us will get what they deserve. There is going to be hell to pay. Congress won’t be a problem for us this time. No election to worry about after this is over and we have two judges ready to go.

wonder what this means?

Your post has no source aside from the The Ulsterman Report. And that can't be considered credible. Until a credible source appears, there's no reason to believe this. Sorry TD.

Re: Compromise? or a civil war?

I'm not for the vindictiveness aspect but I'm for the, "this is the direction we are going in" and the spine to do it.

same thing. but it will be interesting to see how much they can accomplish when the house is still as strongly GOP as it was before the election

Yep... I'm really curious to see how Boehner plays it this session.

Re: Compromise? or a civil war?

NO... I remember. Mao is part of the Oak Ridge Boys' lyrics in "Elvira".

Giddyup a oombappa oombappa Mao Mao.

Re: Compromise? or a civil war?

This is nothing compared to Boehner's recent comment:

"You tell that BOY in the Whtie House that I'd eat a live baby before I'd ask the Koch brothers to pay a single penny in taxes. It has always been and will always be my way or the highway and if he doesn't like it he can kiss my boozy, tear puckered white ass!"

Or at least he might have said that, according to some blog that may or may not exist somewhere....

Re: Compromise? or a civil war?

I wonder what the administration has in store for me..... I wasn't with them, so i guess they see me as their enemy now( to be fair, they've always seen my kind as their enemy)... i wonder how that will manifest itself in this term?

I'm sure that TD can fabricate a quote that will cover your specific situation. Just ask him.

Re: Compromise? or a civil war?

As far as compromise goes...

Republicans compromise on the issues I think they shouldn't, and don't on the issues I think they should.
Democrats don't compromise on the issues I disagree with them on, and compromise on the issues I kinda agree with them on.

**** em' all.

yes, i'm a white male, business owner, gun owner, non-Democrat, who drive an astoundingly large truck that burns dinosaur juice like no tomorrow..

hell, I can't think of one thing about me that would put me in their good graces...i'm in all the wrong demographics

Re: Compromise? or a civil war?

This is what Turtle and the Republican party have been reduced to, gossip queen rumors. The people have spoken, they're not buying your middle school tactics anymore. You may want to accept this reality and move on.

again i have to say this, the people did not speak for support of democrats or republicans. they spoke of support for gridlock.

It means that for some people losing an election causes them to start believing their own nightmares are real.
Do you have a link or is this just a daydream you had?

"NOTE: This update was forwarded to me by Wall Street Insider who indicated they received it this morning via a direct source associated with Barack Obama’s campaign headquarters in Chicago."

Yeah, every place I found the quote basically sourced back to this site eventually. It is apparently an anonymous tip from someone who overheard someone say that they heard Valerie Jarret say it.

Not gonna get my knickers in a twist over an anonymous hearsay rumor three times removed.

Re: Compromise? or a civil war?

You would really have to be an idiot to believe that the quote is real.

yeah the chicago machine is well known for being accommodating of the opposition

Re: Compromise? or a civil war?

That post exhibits More typical mindless yapping. waiting to hear from you what libertarian issues Obama appealed to

Am I supposed to explain myself to you? I'm not going to have some pointless debate about Libertarianism with you. The real issue is you running around with the other dejected R's singing the same old tired tune of waaah welfare, waaah government, waaah takers. Snap out of it, there is more going on than just that.

So let me get this right. The R's have done all they can to obstruct Obama, so now its his fault, ALSO it is the fault of those who voted for him... so we should vote for a R? Oh no, you really believe the big bad Obama boogie man is coming to get you again, a middle school rumor says so.

They're pretty well known for not being stupid, and of course they'd have to completely brain dead to vocalize something like that even in the unlikely event that they felt that way.
