Time for both parties to put politics aside and solve the problems of nation

Yes, because Romney would be such a drastic change from that.

Not what I meant. People could have given Dems the House if they wanted change also. Instead they relected the same people who got nothing done the last two years. Obama and the Dem Senate who did nothing but blame others, and the GOP House which either passed legislation that wouldnt get past the Senate, or went along with temporary measures which changed nothing.

Isn't it free-market Republicans who advocated free trade with China that allowed them to rise as an economic powerhouse in the first place?

Like Churchill... I'm for free trade and fair trade. For elevating people from misery through commerce.

Free trade is our best chance to bring the Commi's down; but they're still Commi's and they're hostile. We have to be vigilant... and we have the opposite of that in the WH. We have a unilaterally disarming fool. Ask the Poles what they think of Obama?

Not really. The amount of gerrymandering of districts by GOP state legislatures has meant that getting a Democratic majority in the House is getting to be a long shot.

Instead they relected the same people who got nothing done the last two years.

Actually quite a few Tea Party freaks were sent packing. But yes they "re-elected" the same people, because the districts are gerrymandered so much that it is a sure thing as long as you have an R or D beside your name.

Obama and the Dem Senate who did nothing but blame others, and the GOP House which either passed legislation that wouldnt get past the Senate, or went along with temporary measures which changed nothing.

Of course Obama and the Dems blamed others, because the others refused to compromise lol. It all comes back to the House... the Dems in the Senate can bend over and go bi-partisan with the GOP there, but it will be rejected by the House because of the Tea Party fanatics.

This notion that the Tea-Party is the problem is a complete joke. Obama is the problem. He has no notion of compromise. Let's remember that compromise is not getting everything you want and giving up nothing. It's also not giving up everything you believe in.

This next four years is going to be hell in the US. The electorate of this country just reinforced the idea that not only are they ignorant, they are self serving and care not about the nation or the future of their children and grand-children, all they care about is "where is mine". We have gone from the Greatest Generation to the Worst Generation Possible. It's sad.

This, once again, is nothing but projection. Obama has compromised time and time again. In fact, if you look at almost everything Republicans crticize, it is the result of Obama having compromised with Republicans.

"They should be called the OBAMA tax cuts!" No, they're the Bush tax cuts. Obama compromised when he signed them because Republicans insisted that they would not extend unemployment insurance and payroll tax cuts without them.

"He didn't close Gitmo!" No, he realized that he would have to compromise that position because Republicans and some Democrats gave him little alternative to keeping the prison open.

"It's socialized medicine!" No, it isn't. Obama compromised from the outset by proposing a Republican plan and he compromised again by dropping the public option.

Etc.

Meanwhile, Republicans in the Senate have shattered the record for filibusters, effectively ending majority rule in favor of super majority rule. Republicans in the House nearly destroyed the full faith and credit of the United States because they refused to accept even $1 in new tax revenue, even when Obama was offering a deal that was 9:1 spending cuts to new revenue.

Case in point. Day after the election, liberals won, still repeating the same talking points. Status quo ftw.

It's a great idea, but Obama hasn't even met with his "Jobs Council" in 10 months, and ignored Simpson Bowles like it never happened. He won't let Clinton have any power, and he won't let Romney anywhere near his office.

The government can't improve the economy, so all this pontificating about bi-partisanship is a waste of breath.

Disagree.. if anything it will be the fault of the Tea Party radicals in the House. They dont understand the word compromise. All Harry Reid has been doing is blocking crap coming from the Tea Party... basically taking a bit of veto workload off Obama's shoulders.

Even before we knew the result yesterday, Cantor was on Bloomberg saying he would not compromise... come on..

The Reps on CNN said that if the Reps don't move away from the Teas they could become a fringe party in the forseeable future. They used the information from some states showing that more people identified themselves with the Dems or the IND's than thte REPS as a hint. Remember the people who said this were hard core Reps.

I happen to agree. Burying your head in the sand isn't going to help

as long as the definition of bipartisanship remains to be " reject your party's position and adopt my party's position"... you'll see gridlock ... and deservedly so.

Thats your defintion not the real one.

I think Obama should appoint Romney and Bill Clinton to head a bipartisan economic/balanced budget team to come up with a plan. Not impressed with leadership in Congress from either party, hope both parties will choose smart, practical leadership that are more moderate problem solvers. So many things that need to get done that there should be bipartsan support for. For instance on immigration policy, why not allow the international students that come to U.S. universities and get their advanced degrees easy citizenship if they want to stay. Ton of stuff like that in which both sides should have enough support to pass.

I thinks thats a good idea. But obama ignored the recommendations of the other economic panel he appointed. In his narcisstic arrogance, he does not think he needs any advice, he has all the answers. and you who voted him back in just encouraged that arrogance and narcissism.

I hope you are happy.

Sorry. This nation has no idea what that means any more.

wont work anyway, the teaparty are radicals and they control the house and have proven for 2 years that they will not negotiate it's the teaparty way or the gridlocked way. but i like your idea, in theory, despite it being extremely unlikely as i said.

FFS.

Why are is the 'Tea Party' so obstructionist? Maybe the first 2 years with Dem control and we got this raped abortion that is going to **** the middle class hard called PPACA? May be the 'I won' I get my way attitude?

Maybe?

Please 4 more years of stonewalling, please.

It takes radical to obstruct radical.
