In 2004, CNN featured John King's "magic wall" on Election Night...which was essentially a poorly-designed giant iPad that I guess was supposed to make viewers feel like they were in Minority Report. In 2008, Wolf Blitzer beamed will.i.am into the studio via hologram for an interview. I didn't think it could get any stupider than that, but in 2010, they had a projector featuring a 3D "virtual Congress" that they could update as the results came in. It was hard to read, and inferior to just showing the numbers.

How do you think they're going to top themselves this year with silly tech toys?

I'm picturing a holographic dart board with King shooting virtual laser bolts out of his ass representing electoral votes.

I'm imagining a mirror-like contraption that King can step through into another dimension known as the Land of Electoral Oz, with it's leader, The Wizard Wolf of Blitzer.

They probably will mix in some cellphone app to their data.

Don't forget the Cube... from the primaries...

Honestly there's only one word that can describe their gimmicks.

It's a South African word "kak".

Jesus even during the Iowa Caucus instead of showing you know THE ACTUAL PEOPLE they showed computer generated mini people running around in different colours representing the candidates...

i don't see a problem with holographic technology, actually i think it should be in every polling station, so we can watch poll workers and make sure they dont cheat.

I was wondering that too. Maybe they will create some sort of special time travel device that will allow us to skip their pointless commentary. One can only hope.

I saw nothing wrong with what CNN did or how they used their Tech toys. I found it very informative and gave me a better idea of how the process works and how the unbiased media is able to predict outcomes with such a small percentage of votes counted. I also found the political panel more civilized than most
