Democrat Interventions

My biggest issue is that those monitoring the election sites are partisan in the first place.

One Republican official claimed that "just under 70" Republican election officials were blocked from Philadelphia polling sites Tuesday morning by Democrats on site. One of them, the official claimed, "was shoved out of the polling place."

yeah them dems in PA are all about letting people vote fairly aren't they....

Republicans are much better at this. They put out pamphlets in "blue" neighborhoods saying that the election is tomorrow. And robocall people saying the Democrat candidate has already won so people should stay home, not bother to vote. Ooh, and throw out ballots marked "D". Oh man, I almost forgot the part where if someone leaves blank spots on the ballot, Republicans will fill that part in for you, straight R-ticket.

I agree but I don't really see a way around that. How can you guarantee impartiality? You can't, so having monitors from all represented parties, including the third parties, is the best compromise.

agreed and there should be more limits / rules on what can actually go on to exclude votes/voters.
Blows my mind that all these secratarys of state can basically make up their own rules. Yes they dont get total freedom but to much, WAY TO MUCH imo when it comes to voting.

IMO basica rule of thumb anything that a state does that is going to suppress voting is probably a horrible idea and must be reviewed by a higher authority before being able to put in in lace. I never understood american citizens that want to vote being denied is ever good.

Secretary of state is right to pursue voter registration fraud allegations against ACORN
Thursday, Oct. 9, 2008 | 2:07 a.m.

Shortly before the 2004 general election, Nevada Democrats accused Voters Outreach of America, an organization funded by Republicans, of committing voter registration fraud by trying to stop Democrats from registering, but the group escaped punishment. The state Investigations Division, in a report to the secretary of state’s office, found forged registration documents with fictitious names and addresses during the same election but no evidence of organized fraud.

With next month’s election rapidly approaching and with Nevada once again considered a battleground state, the state is dealing with fresh allegations of voter registration fraud. This time fingers are being pointed at the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, an anti-poverty group whose registration operations have been criticized by Republicans.

An affidavit for a search warrant of the group’s Sahara Avenue office that was enforced Tuesday said there was reason to believe ACORN employees had submitted falsified registration forms to the Clark County registrar of voters.

ACORN’s interim chief organizer, Bertha Lewis, said the group immediately dismisses employees who are suspected of fraud and it had cooperated with county and state authorities, but called the office raid “a stunt that serves no useful purpose.” We disagree. The secretary of state’s office should be commended for launching the investigation.

Any allegation of voter registration fraud where evidence is available is worthy of a state investigation. We are also troubled in this particular case that ACORN’s registration effort allegedly involved inmates of the state’s Casa Grande transitional housing center in Las Vegas for convicted felons who are about to be released into the community.

Voters need to be assured that elections are clean and that everyone who goes to the polls is eligible to do so.

I'll let someone else disprove the other unsubstantiated claims in your post.

Changed my mind. It is just too easy to disprove your silly post.

"(CNN) – Virginia State Police have decided not to file charges against the individual who created and circulated a flyer with incorrect information about the date for voting in this week’s presidential election.

“After a thorough investigation into the origins of a fake election flyer that began circulating in the Hampton Roads region last week, the Virginia State Police have determined no criminal activity occurred and no charges will be filed,” a press release issued Monday said.

The flyer incorrectly stated that Republicans and Republican-leaning independent voters should vote November 4 and that Democrats and Democratic-leaning independents should vote November 5. The flyer claims that the separate dates for voting by party were enacted by the Virginia legislature to ease the strain on the polls during high turnout that is expected Tuesday.

But that information is incorrect. Polls in Virginia are open Tuesday, November 4 for everyone, regardless of party affiliation or political leanings.

The Virginia State Police said in a statement that they had determined the flyer had not been created in order to deceive voters. “The flyer has been evaluated as an ‘office joke’ and was not intended as a means of a misinformation campaign targeting registered voters,” they said. The department noted, however, that circulating incorrect information to voters is against the law in Virginia.

You have been drinking the Kool-aide and perhaps you should do a little more research before posting the Democrats "nasty Republican" propaganda.
