Jesus. Why the Democrats haven't played this on TV, I don't know, but their failure to recast this is political malpractice.

Replace Obama for Bush, the Financial Crisis for 9/11, Housing for Dot Com and you can otherwise literally take Romney's speech and use it defend Obama.

Seriously, political malpractice that this hasn't been hitting the airwaves.

Literally, you can replace a few words and Romney is now defending Obama.

Holy ****. Who is running Obama's campaign? This is DAMNING. Not only does it show that Romney's whole campaign of Obama caused this economy is utter bull**** but that he's an outright liar.

Wow, I hadn't seen that one before. As if we needed further proof of Romney's duplicity....

But as much as I hate to say this, I don't think it would have helped much in the campaign. Most of the electorate wouldn't understand the argument.

In fact there's an even better quote by Romney about his OWN record from 2006:

“I came in and the jobs had been just falling, like off a cliff. I came in and they kept falling for 11 months and then we turned around and we’re coming back,” Romney said. “And that’s progress. And if you’re going to suggest to me that somehow the day I got elected, somehow jobs should immediately turn around. Why, that would be silly. It takes a while to get things turned around. We were in a recession, we were losing jobs every month, we’ve turned around.”

So basically, in his own words, Romney's whole argument against Obama is silly poppycock.

Oh Come On. If the Democrats replaced the few key words and ran that ad, they'd have the Republican Candidate defending Obama.

Seriously, this is an EPIC FAIL on the Democrat's part.

You may be right by my guess is that they were well aware of these videos, tried them on test audiences, and didn't get a very good response. At least I hope so....

Maybe. Cuz I guarantee the Republicans would have done it. You cannot get a better ad than your opponent defending you against his own attacks. Sure it won't play to many people, but it will have a bloody hard impact on a certain demographic.

I am fairly certain that the dems and repubs decided on what is taboo and what is not taboo to attack during the campaign. Obama must have promised to lay low with the whole mitt today vs mitt 4 years back; while romney may have promised not to attack obama on his broken promises or the fact that he only completed about 40% of his promises(most of them small ones that only demanded little work), and out of all that, only a few were really big promises. Like... you know, raising the price of energy, putting sanctions on Iran, trying to repair the image of the USA worldwide, kill osama ( i guess that wasn't really a promise, but it happened) and obamacare.

Are you arguing that Obama has NO hypocritical statements in his past that would somehow be relevant to this election? I can think of three off the top of my head. They probably didn't bring it up because, honestly, it's not all that damning, especially when compared to the things that could easily be presented by the Republicans that would make this flip flop look minor in comparison.

Basically their both frothing hypocrites and its not going to be something either is going to run heavily on.

That video was correct. I don't see what the point is?

Bush didn't cause the recession, and Obama didn't cause the recession... Romney hasn't blamed Obama for the housing market crashing or mortgage lenders going belly up.

The measure of a president is based on the steps they take to fix the problems and their effectiveness. What Bush did worked. It created jobs and brought America back to near full employment. What Obama did failed. We are still down jobs, the unemployment rate is higher and the economy still hasn't bounced back.

There is no hypocrisy here. Romney clearly lauds the actions of the previous administration for ending the previous recession. Did you guys miss all that stuff about "lowering taxes"? That's probably why it didn't run this year.

Jesus. Why the Democrats haven't played this on TV, I don't know, but their failure to recast this is political malpractice.

Probably because they didn't want the Republicans to play Obama's damning statements about how the increased debt under Bush was a "failure of leadership" and how Obama (among others) criticized Bush for the high gas prices in 2008.

So the folks who have been blaming Bush for 4 years suddenly have seen the light because of Mitt? LOL Please. Too little too late. Obama is done.

How could the point possibly go so far over your head?

Hell, I would have done it. Then run O'Reilly saying that high gas prices weren't the President's fault.

There's something to be said though, that the GOP would just run Obama lambasting Bush for gas prices and the economy. Problem is, ithe whole reason Obama won was people blaming Bush for the crash and the high gas prices. (Sorry to disappoint the race baiters, it's not because he's black).

The campaign is over...all that's left is the voting. At this point there is zero chance that any new stories about Obama or Romney will have an impact on the election, so can we all just stop being outraged for one day? :)
