General 2012 Election Results Discussion Thread

Its a terrible idea to try to predict results with less than .01% of the country reporting in.

I know, it's just funny they even bother to put up numbers when they are so small, like the .07% reporting in NH which gives 28 to 14... Funny stuff watching the news trip over themselves to be first, but not blow it and look foolish.

I'm calling Indiana and Kentucky for Romney. :)

Donnelly is about 18% closer than Obama is in Indiana. It isn't looking good for Mourdock.

CNN reports that the Romney campaign's last internal polls showed a 5% Obama lead in Ohio. :2wave:

Vermont to Obama, Kentucky to ROmney according to CNN

Politico has Indiana for Romney.

I did a google search and found this thing: 2012 Election Results Map by State - Live Voting Updates - POLITICO.com

It amuses me because (at this time) NH has exactly 43 votes reported (0.7%) and one of those votes is for Johnson, giving him 2.3% of the vote.

However they also apparently just called Vermont as for Obama, even though according to the numbers no votes have reported yet...

Oops, I lied. It is FOX that has Indiana called. Too many tabs open...

CNN is saying Virginia is 50/50

Florida 4 % in, Obama 55 to 45

Fox has that as well. How can they call a state with 0 reported votes?

I don't even agree with the one's called for Romney that only have 5% reporting... man, it's not that much of a rush to find out, let the votes be counted.

They have said they are using exit polling in noncompetative states to call them.

Well so long as they know they'll look like idiots if they're wrong.

I doubt that Krewe Romney just gave them that information, so a grain of salt may be required.

That is why they are only doing it in states we already know the result.

Parts of Indiana and Kentucky have already closed. The polls are only still open in the Central Time Zone parts of those states. They normally start reporting the data as soon as they get it...they just won't officially "call" a state until the polls are closed everywhere in that state.

I have really nothing......what's the general feeling?

This is wierd. With the other sub forum locked the lack of posting is...............................................strange.

Not too smart, considering how off the 2004 exit polling was.

I'd support a constitutional amendment that does not allow them to 'call' or report any results until all polls across the nation are closed. The media plays too many games on election day.

Yeah, weird. I'd have thought this place would be on fire.

Someone will win. A bunch of people will be happy, many of those will be obnoxious about it, a bunch of people will be sad/mad, many of those will be obnoxious about it. We will continue on with a poor economy and far too much debt. ;)

florida shifted 50% romney, 49% obama. Only 8% in though.
