Charles Krauthammer summarizes Tuesday's choice like only he can

He is brilliant. He is the only FOX person who got a formal appology from the White House after falsely calling him a liar - and he was intelligent enough to accept it gracefully and move on.

st

Krauthammer never said he was going to stop the ocean from rising, Obama did. The east coast is under water.

Hey look kids, conservatives forced to mischaracterize the facts and ignore science.

It's what conservatives do best.

It certainly does... Everyone wishes they were more profitable... Everyone... no matter what lies they spread...

And this is why conservatives will lose -- totally cynical and without any other values but selfishness and greed.

Krauthammer's post-truthiness is legendary for anybody who bothers to listen to his agitprop. As near as anybody can tell, he has never told the truth -- a record even by rightwing noise machine standards.

Wash. Post's Krauthammer Burnishes His Post-Truth Journalism Credentials | Blog | Media Matters for America

So you accept without question that Media Matters will tell you the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth?

Pssst: read it and you decide. The facts are the facts. Krauthammer was lying and when his falsehoods were exposed he continued to lie.

That's what makes him a conservative.

This is why liberals should lose... seeing earnings potential shouldn't be viewed as a negative... that's the real cynicism...

Do you not see the connection between the fact that people in your party look down on profits or successful corporations... and how under this president they've been unable to make profits and haven't been able to boost the economy?

There's nothing selfish about wanting prosperity... prosperity is good for all...

Three word: Winston Churchill's Bust.

That's how freakish Krauthammer and the rightwing noise machine is. Absolutely freakish.

The President sent me a copy of his Blueprint for America today. Perhaps I should send him a copy of the 7 help-wanted ads in today's local paper in kind.

Done. The only conclusion is that you do accept the MM bait -- hook, line and sinker.

Good plan. You could even wrap it around a dead fish to remind him of the good old days with Rahmbo...

It's not the most important election ever.

The most important election was 2008. Fortunately we elected a President and a mostly unified congress that were able to put in place a lot of emergency measures to save our economy from the brink of disaster. Imagine what would have happened if we had the government we have now in 2008? Or if we had a McCain presidency with the congress we had?

I know it's fashionable to be overly pessimistic, especially around election time... But things aren't really that bad. We're having a much above recovery as compared to other financial crises and are doing dramatically better than the countries which enacted austerity measures. Moreover, economic forecasts are fairly bullish moving forward over the next few years, regardless who's president.

The senate is going to stay Democratic, the house will remain Republican, and both margins will decrease. No one is going to be able to enact anything radical.

I still think Romney would be bad for the country, but that's more because he stands for nothing and is likely to get bullied by the no compromise wing of the GOP than because he's for actually doing anything or would be able to get anything done.

I can think of three elections off the top of my head that were far more important than this one - 1860, 1864, and 1940. Krauthammer is a smart guy, but at the end of the day he's just another right wing shill.

If Romney is elected, God Help us all. We will go back to the Leave it to Beaver Days as far as social issues are concerned and the country will actually be governed by Grover Nordquist and his cabal of right wing nutjobs.

I actually think it is funny that the left believes that Romney leads Republicans or that the GOP speaks with one voice. Don't forget your guy was none to happy with his Congressional minions when they were in the majority. The party in opposition may speak with one voice out of necessity, but the party in control never does.

Good looking, too ... for a right wing hack.

right wing hack? a guy who was a huge fan of the clinton gun ban? who has zero use for the evangelical right?

Even out of context as Dusty presents it, it's not true. He said this is the moment the Oceans slowed, not stopped. But that is out of context. What he means, as anyone who actually speaks English knows, is that they will be better stewards of the environment. Now, we can be dishonest and say he said he stop the oceans from rising, or we can be honest and seek meaning. It's always a choice.

Why do liberals often have to interpret Obama's words for others? I guess he will never be mistaken for "the great communicator."

part of the liberal mindset is the belief that most people cannot exist or think or feed themselves without the wise guidance of liberal overlords

Really? I can see it here. Do you have some kind of science blocker on your computer?

Be that as it may, what the graph shows is that sea levels HAVE declined under Obama. And no, I'm not suggesting it's because of Obama.

:bs Then why show the graph?

Word s have meaning, and usually within a context. Most people understand this.

In Obama's case it's often called "lying." Most people understand this.

I suppose most people need guidance anyway, some turn to God and some turn to the market, neither of which are ever wrong of course (they even tend to be one and the same these days). But most people also like to think they are free and don't need any guide. Then some believe they have seen the light and belong to the restricted club of the enlightened.

you cannot support leftist policies unless you believe an enlightened elite are more qualified to decide for the masses than the masses themselves

Three words to sum up Krauthammer's weirdness: Winston Churchill's Bust.

What a freaky hack.
