North Carolina residents for Romney say machine gave their vote to Obama | Fox News

Several early voters in North Carolina said they cast ballots for Mitt Romney but the electronic ballot machine logged their pick as President Obama.
The problem appears to be limited to one polling station in the state’s Guilford County.

I can't find a reputable source online reporting it yet, but I heard on several radio stations today that this is no longer limited to one polling place in the state. I really do think this is simply a machine screw up, but we better hope that if the president wins again, NC wasn't a factor. Otherwise we will see a long course of lawsuits and demands for recounts.

So it starts again.
Sometimes it seems the entire election process is just a total sham because of the voting machines.

It's pretty ridiculous. Even with this error, it shows how the vote was cast and the voter can fix it (though it takes a few tries sometimes), but that won't stop it from becoming overblown and being a major issue depending on the outcome of the election. Seriously, we can program smartphones to turn our words into a text message and drive us from one end to the country to the other, but we can't get a simple machine of vital importance to match a checkbox to the right name.

You cannot have a recount if the machines are broken--you would have to have a revote in the areas with broken machines IMO because the machines would give you false numbers.
