3rd Party Presidential Debate...

I like how it was carried by Al Jazeera and not by any major US networks.

Tells you a bit about the stranglehold the (R) and (D)'s have on the whole election cycle. It's pathetic.

I'm on the last closing statement. I don't agree with all of them, but they come across as far more 'real' than Obama or Romney. And they discuss some things that matter that neither Romney or Obama would go near, no wonder they keep them out of the main debate, it would show just how similar Romney and Obama are and how out of touch with the people they are.

Agreed. They're not pumped up with millions by the social elite and won't get into office but they damn sure spoke about important subjects that many Americans ignore.

... What do Libertarians, Greens and Justice Party supporters agree about?

1) It's urgent to rein in the military-industrial complex, and reorient American foreign policy away from bellicose interventionism.

2) Civil liberties are being trampled on by Democrats and Republicans.

3) The drug war is a failed policy -- some combination of decriminalization, legalization and regulation is needed.

It says something powerful that people as ideologically diverse agree on those significant points. ...

still would have liked Buddy Roemer to have participated to remind everyone that we have the best government money can buy

Holy crap I've never heard Virgil Goode speak before. He's got a thicker accent than where I grew up.

That's part of the deception. If the Republocrats had to battle actual political philosophy with their own, it would become readily apparent that they are in fact the same party.

Indeed that was quite the thick accent. A lot of people in crowd seemed to really dislike him, especially when he said he wouldn't fund Planned Parenthood. However, I do respect the fact that he was to the point and held to his convictions.

The Constitution Party pretty much has no identifiable difference from the Republican party that I can tell. They are very socially driven and religiously driven. Their platform is basically everything that the GOP has been harping on for a while now so I don't see how the CP can gan ground by being a clone. The only difference between the CP and the Repub Party is that the CP wants a few electoral changes so that they can be heard as a third party.

The Constitution Party wants theocracy, which may be a bit further than the GOP.

I agree but I think the CP is more outward about their intent but the GOP's notions are based in the same evangelical roots when it comes to social policies.

I think Larry did a good job moderating which was refreshing considering what we have seen in other debates. Also. Although I have some Green in me, I thought their college tuition comments were way off base.
All in all a very good enlightening time.

Because the CP actually wants it. The GOP uses religion only to make it seem different from the Democrats somehow. Which I don't understand since atheists are unelectable, all our politicians (R or D) are "religious". But whatever, they make it a grandstand point to try to make it seem like there's a difference when in fact both branches of the Republocrats push to maintain the status quo.

How so?

They said that college education should be free like secondary education. Well free is not free as Johnson pointed out. Primary and secondary education is paid by taxes and other means.
I do not agree that college should be free or on the backs of the taxpayers. Only about 30% or so go to college. I think Johnson had a good point. Use Lottery money for those who can't afford it or need some help and get the colleges and universities to do a cost comparison study or whatever its called to see what the real cost of college is.
Don't get me wrong I am not against higher education. It made me what I am today, but I paid most of my college cost myself and only had a very small loan to pay off at the end. My wife and I have been saving since our kids were born to send them through college and if 2008 had not happened we would have made it. My son is not able now to go to college because of his behavioral downslide here in the south, so God willin and the river don't rise we will be able to send my daughter to a very good "state" school in Wisconsin.
1. Get schools to reduce unnecessary costs, lowering tuition
2. Get real low interest rate loans which have a longer drop dead date
3. Encourage parents to save for their kids education.
4. Use lottery money to help those that need help
5. Make all college bound seniors aware of all the great scholarships and other mechanisms to pay for college. Not near enough information being given by HS's.
6. Help college kids find summer jobs to help pay for college.

This is not an end all proposition but it is better than having everyone pay for the ones who go to college.

Understand now, great response sir.

Not bad at all. You're one of the few liberals that actually try to look at all sides.

Thats why I am NOT a liberal but a moderate. I use what between my ears and not other parts of my body.

Sorry, I was looking at your lean. Forgive meh. lolz

Yeah I figured as much but when I joined they did not have a classification for liberal moderate. As you can expect, I don't see some of my views (as above) as liberal or conservative just common sense. The problem is that this word is way over used and is different for every body just like NORMAL> DAAHH< what?

I still like Rocky...
