Who Won The Foreign Policy Debate, 22 Oct 2012?

Who won the debate?

I see a liberal says "Romney". How do you know before hand?

Obama could have had a stroke two minutes in and some would have said he won. I see there is a serious vote for Obama and as Spud for Romney

Liberals aren't needed.

We pay you to entertain us. . .

Rush Limbaugh said:
What better way to head off more oil drilling, nuclear plants, than by blowing up a rig? I'm just noting the timing, here.

--Rush Limbaugh, suggesting that "environmentalist whackos" deliberately blew up the oil rig in the Gulf of Mexico that created one of the biggest environmental disasters in U.S. history to stop offshore oil drilling, April 29, 2010

We Conservatives/Libertarians are not mindless zombies who think it's true because Limbaugh said so. Rather, we listen to him because he tells the truth, and is a thinker!

:)

I'd say this debate was the closest, but I'd give Obama the edge on substance and therefore, the win. Romney didn't distinguish himself effectively from Obama on foreign policy which is why he loses on substance.

best line I heard, Obama won the debate and Obama lost the debate because Obama was mainly debating Obama. Romney apparently made a strategic decision not to be in your face. It was pretty bland. what Romney did well was throw in a lot of stuff on economics.

"I agree mr president." Romney said that a lot. That gives obama the win.

Romney won big. This was a bigger win than the first debate.

The election is over.

I think it Obama won but it wasn't a slamdunk. I don't think it has much effect on the race. Maybe a quarter point for Obama in the polls.

I see the hacks started voting before it was done:mrgreen: Obama did a good job on foreign policy. Romney did a good job in terms of strategy and that was making economics a topic which is where this election is going to be won or lost

I think we got a clear indication who the hacks are from the reaction to the second debate versus the debate polls.

It felt less like a debate and more like a friendly conversation.

Personally, I don't see either winning because they both had a few large moments and the majority was just them agreeing and trying to tie in irrelevancies.

I'd say Obama took tonight's contest, not a landslide by any means, but certainly asserted himself more forcefully and articulately on foreign issues.

Romney was talking in incoherent circles...
Doesn't matter, the debate wasn't actually about "foreign policy"
Still chalk it up as a slight win for Obama

Sorry, what are you saying? Because I heard that program and to put it in context, something you failed to do, he was actually joking. Rush always says little assumptions as jokes. Don't judge a guy unless you listen to his whole program at least for two weeks! :peace :)

Obama won because Romney basically spent the whole night saying "I agree with President Obama."

You are joking?

I have to agree with you on this in terms of this debate alone. I don't think Obama was able to shove Romney into the right wing hawkish corner. ROmney played a rope a dope game which means he didn't get knocked down but he didn't land a TKO on Obama either.

In long term (in terms of politics) I think Romney probably helped himself because Obama started looking petulant. I think Obama's planned strategy of really going after Romney was deflected by the rope a dope tactics of Romney.

it was very interesting that Romney allowed Obama to bluster since he was not going to "out commander in chief" (as one commentator noted) Obama

I think Obama won this debate (the least important of the 3 debates when it comes to the election in my opinion), but lik Maggie said earlier: A foeiegn policy debates favors the sitting president every time.

I call it a tie. Both did well. I thought Obusha was a bit too interruptive but....really, there isn't much policy difference between them (IMHO ALERT) and Obama had a slight advantage since he is currently the CIC.

All in all, I'll be voting for Johnson, not because I'm a libertarian but because I'm confused and copping out really.:)

Romney came off as weak. It was all me too except when he tried to derail the conversation.

I think we got a clear indication who the hacks are from the reaction to the second debate versus the debate polls.

The main reason why the Obama hacks thought Obama won was because he did do far better than he did in the first one

Its like people claiming Any Murray did well in wimbledon because for the first time in a major final, he actually won a set

He still lost the title though

wow talk about trying to play it safe from Romney! If this was a tennis match he would of spent the whole game on the baseline!

It's difficult to say "who won," in style once again probably Obama but I didn't think he came across very well. The last 15 minutes I thought Romney was better and gave a very good closing statement.

The only chance Obama had in this election was to paint Romney as another Bush. A war monger who doesn't like the middle class. That idea was completely destroyed tonight.

Romney clearly showed himself as a moderate.

Obama seemed un-presidential, rattled, and desperate, while Romney seemed cool, collected, and calm.

You will see Romney starting to pull away from Obama in the polls in the next week or so.
You are joking?
