3,000 new gun dealers in the U.S. since Obama became president. "'The driver is President Obama. He's the best thing that ever happened to the firearm industry,' said Jim Barrett, an industry analyst at C.L. King & Associates Inc. in New York."

AP News: Gun industry thrives during Obama's term in office

LOL! Also undoubtedly benefiting from the fear and handwringing at the prospect of his potential reelection are Apocalypse bunker manufacturers.

In 1992 Al Gore who had been an NRA "A" rated senator and Bill Clinton-from a very pro gun state started running for office. They ended up being one of the most anti gun administrations in history -between jacking up fees for dealers to the scary looking gun bans. The price of the magazines I used in both IPSC/USPSA Open(EAA Gold Team 9x21 Witness) and Limited (Para Ord/Craig Custom 45) went from 20 dollars to over 100 due to the Clinton gun ban.

fast forward to 2008 when the most anti gun senator in US history teamed up with a guy who had previously stated he wanted a complete ban on handguns and supported the clinton gun ban ran and came from the political machine that had imposed one of the two most draconian city wide gun bans in USA history.

it was very rational to think that those two would try to impose gun restrictions. Their fear of a 1994 repeat and then Bush's two supreme court picks were the bulwark against such nastiness

This isn't 1994 positions change, being progun is a winner generally now and being anti-gay is a loser now generally, at least that is the sense I get from people.
