About 40,000 people die each year because of lack of health coverage. They die of treatable or preventable illness's that could have been avoided if they got the right care.

And I have healthcare insurance. My husband's job provides it to us. We share in the costs. I guess that means we won't die?

Your little argument here fails on about every level. No it's not going to say "lack of health care coverage" on the death certificate, because that is not the medical ailment that they died from. But the effective reason they died was because of a lack of health care coverage.

I'm not sure how to respond to something so incredibly stupid. People who do not have health insurance only go to the doctor (emergency room) when their life depends on it. They miss out on all the normal visits to the doctor for problems that crop up, many of them chronic diseases that progress over many years. They get little if any preventive medicine. They get little if any treatment for conditions up until they become life threatening.

If you can't figure out why that would be a bad thing, something that contributes to people dying or living in unnecessarily poor health, then I don't know how your mind works.

nice try.. many times people just pass away.. thats life sadly.. nothing we can do about it..

Im not willing to have to pay a fine, or face jail, or have the IRS on me if I dont want healthcare.. period...

So I guess the other 999 people who don't want to pay for healthcare but then get it when they are dying or in trouble, we should tolerate and pay for them all because of that one person who wants to not go to the doctor ever and just die exists? That's a pretty ****ty deal, screwing 1000 people just so that one lone nutjob doesn't have to pay a few bucks a month for health coverage is just... stupid.

well thats America... that person will have to pay out of pocket for health services.. unless its an emergency and then care will be given..

shoukd we buy everyone a car? or internet?... Im for HSA's peronally. that way its my money, I can control it and use it as needed..

Insurance is meant to be there when something major happens....like car insurance..you get into an accident you are covered...but basic maintenance of your car is your responsibility not your car insurance.....I think Health Insurance was initially designed to work this way....only one problem....rising costs of health care has made it almost impossible for the average American to get routine checkups and basic preventative care a rate they can afford without the reliance on insurance....and doctors/hospital rely on the guaranteee of payment from insurance.....a lot of health insurance plans are now offering preventative care and annual check-ups/screenings as a part of their plans with no additional cost or out of pocket expense because by denying these basic options to their insured population the end result is higher expenses because the person didn't get the basic care or screening needed before a major illness......insurance companies are in this industry to make money...they do not make money off sick people so they are finally starting to agree to preventative care which in the end results in overall costs per person......I don't have the answers to how to make this all work but there has to be a way to stop the costs from making health care unaffordable which is what health insurance companies/hospitals/doctors have done.

So for you if President Obama got shot in the line of duty no big deal. And being there was four Americans, let me though in Biden, Reid, and Pelosi that get murdered by terrorists. No big deal right. Hell thousands of Americans die each year, what's the big deal over a few of our elected officials being murdered. Got it.

Why should people who don't want to die or suffer from health problems be at the mercy of those who don't care if they die and don't want health services?

You're bouncing around from extremes here. Yes it matters they died, it is sad, its possible the Obama administration or state department, or somebody screwed up and they didn't get as good of a shot as they should have of not falling victim yes. Here's the thing though, you guys are going buck wild nuts as though this is the worst thing that has ever happened. Its election time so its being used that way, not a surprise. I'm not really sure what you think you're trying to make a point of?

I thought we had a thread on this already. In my opinion Obama screwed this Libyan business up, however I don't think he takes those deaths lightly. He shouldn't have allowed all the conflicting messages to go out. If he wasn't sure of a terrorist attack, he should have said so in the Rose Garden. Instead he started this bull**** about a video and let it grow out of control.

Don't you think comparing war casualties and other war loss to our country's health care or lack of health care is like comparing apples to oranges....entirely different issues!

and there lies his problem(pun intended) we all know that things like this will happen...the Terrorists want us dead....but for this administration to come out with all this stuff trying to save face is coming back to bite him....the info that came out today is very damaging....there is no way around it anymore. What he needs to do is come clean ...I find it insulting that they knew what they knew way before hand yet still continue to put a spin on it. I looked at all the MSM on the new info that came out today and not a one covering it except Fox...they read the letters word for word and the Obama Administration will have to answer to this new info. I am tired of this run around...I will think of Obama much more if he comes out and answers all the questions that dont match up with the answers he keeps throwing our there....

I await a news conference....oh wait...never mind...:roll:
