Does this strike anyone else as a bit too close for comfort?

For those who do not want to read. Tadd used his father's money to invest in solamere Capital at his father's request in 2008. Since then solamere has invested in Hart Intercivix which provides voting machines to areas of Ohio including being the main source for cincinati. Anyone who knows ohio's demographic would know cincinati is a democratic leaning part of Ohio and would be important in determining Ohio's electors.

I don't know if this is illegal, but it should be a huge conflict of interest.

Tagg Romney Invested in Ohio Electronic Voting Machines | Politicol News

I certainly hope some larger news outlets report on this.

For people who are supposedly concerned about voter fraud this is a much bigger problem in an important state than actual voter identity fraud. I certainly hope the government is doing everything in it's power to make sure that the voting machines are reliable and not tampered with. Seriously, if they are going to let this happen they should really be watching what happens.

I think that if this is legal; there really needs to be some reform on how voting machines are made, and keep it out of private hands. If we can get top secret coverage for things like money presses, our military equipment, and even a lot of legitimate gambling machines we should be able to get much better protection from tampering than to have tagg romney responsible for making any voting machines.

Also, if any one of the republicans can show areas where dems families are involved in the manufacture of voting machines please do add that as I feel it only lends to the idea this needs to be stopped, and i think both sides can agree on that.

no please republicans show me the Obama links to stuff like this. before you even show it to me i will agree with you that if it is there then that is bad. Hell do it for anyone. I don't want this to just be about Romney, I bet the companies who make these machines have some sort of connection to political figures, and that should be public. Come on guys, don't let me hammer your guy without response in this case. Let us expose it all. I know you are out there and i know you hate my ideas, or at least hate the hell out of the left, let me see it on this topic.

yes, investing in private companies is legal.

no, investing in a company doesn't put you in charge of, or involved in, manufacturing their products.

investing in a company that invests in a company really puts you out of touch with the products.

as for the voting machines themselves... what do you mean by taking it out of private hands?....you want the government to get into the manufacturing business too?

good lord, that website is junk....oy vey

Aaaaaaaaaaand here we go. Like clockwork. The election has tightened, Romney has a tiny lead now, and now they're gonna start laying the groundwork for this. We're gonna be counting hanging chads again.

Hoo boy

I dont know what the real situation is, but I cant take that article's obvious biasness at all seriously

GOP voting machines.

There have been plenty of Republican attempts to manipulate the turnout, such as restricting voting hours in Democratic leaning districts or hiring, pushing voter ID requirements too late in the game for the word to adequately get out, or hiring a firm to register voters that they knew had a track record of voter fraud.

But there is nothing in this article that concerns me. Frankly, it strikes me as fear mongering.

I'm actually embarrassed that I opened and read that link. Is it a joke? It has to be. That whole site is a joke.

It is the state/municipality's responsibility to select the voting machines/methods used. If Ohio is worried about a conflict, then Ohio should have found another provider. And Ohio should have done its own due diligence when they selected that company.

I had to laugh when I read this:

The new owners of Ohio’s voting machines are owned by no other than Tagg Romney

So now Tagg is owning owners?

This is hilarious. Tagg Romney, owner of owners extraordinaire.
