Al smith dinner with candidate's semi comedy routines

Re: Obama and Romney address the annual Alfred A. Smith Memorial Foundation dinner

Even Rachel Maddow said Romney was funny. Most of us lefties can take it for what it is: funny goofing around.

I wanna know what Chris Matthews thought....especially after the shout out from Obama.

Re: Obama and Romney address the annual Alfred A. Smith Memorial Foundation dinner

I prefer to not look at policy decisions in a bubble. I know why the national debt is higher, and Obama is not solely to blame. That's the kind of thing that happens in a recession, and you can't really fault Obama for the recession since it began before he took office, and was the result of years of failed economic policies (some of which Romney is proposing again).

Policies I favor:
(1) Investment in renewable energy sources
(2) Investment in education and infrastructure
(3) Return to pre-Bush tax rates
(4) I oppose the new Keystone Pipeline
(5) I oppose handing over public lands cheaply for natural resource extraction.
(6) I support gay marriage, repeal of DADT, and a woman's choice
(7) I oppose religious-based politics
(8) I support most of the Affordable Care Act
(9) I support the right of laborers to form a collective to bargain for better salaries and benefits
(10) I believe that many of our foreign policies of the past and present have cause outcomes that we should apologize for.
etc.

(1) Investment in renewable energy sources

Like Solyendra and others that failed and the tax payer was the loser not the owners. Further there is not one green anything that can compete with coal or natural gas. T Boone lost millions on wind and is now promoting natural gas as the future energy source.

(2) Investment in education and infrastructure

We have been pouring more and more money into education and getting less and less results. Teacher unions has destroyed our education system. To think you can't fire a bad teacher is insane. As for infrastructure, I remember the stimulus was partly for "shovel ready jobs" never happened. No shovel ready anything.

(3) Return to pre-Bush tax rates

Obama said himself you never want to raise taxes in a weak economy, Obama extended the Bush tax cuts, now he flip flopped and he says he wants to raise taxes on people making over 250k but I don't see it happening, he won't be in office.

(4) I oppose the new Keystone Pipeline

Of course liberal think Oil is evil. Yet you have no problem with sending 500 billion to Oil Lords every yr and all the jobs that go with it, rather than drill here at home and bring home all that money and the jobs that go with it. I've always said liberals never have cared about US jobs

5) I oppose handing over public lands cheaply for natural resource extraction.

Of course you prefer to send 500 billion and all the jobs that go with it to Oil Lords every year. Screw the people here that are out of work

(6) I support gay marriage, repeal of DADT, and a woman's choice

Of course you would, but I support a marriage between a man and a woman. And no I don't support killing unborn babies

(7) I oppose religious-based politics

Our founders, thought different than you. And I would say the rest of the world feels the same.

(8) I support most of the Affordable Care Act

Under Romney it will be repealed and we then can cut out all that you don't like and all that I don't like, how's that?

(9) I support the right of laborers to form a collective to bargain for better salaries and benefits

I do too, but only in the private sector, not in the public sector where union votes are bought by liberal legislators giving unions what they want in exchange for their vote. To think you can't fire a bad teacher is, criminal to our students.

(10) I believe that many of our foreign policies of the past and present have cause outcomes that we should apologize for.

Obama has been on an apology tour for four yrs now, and we have our citizens murdered on US soil in Libya and they are burning our flag all over the meddle east. So much for Obama's apology tour that did more to hurt our relations and help them.

But hey this is a topic for another day. Don't want to get off course on this thread
