VP debates: Energetic lively debate, one man lied like his life depended on it.

My thoughts are that Ryan marginally beat out Biden. Ryan did counter more with facts than Biden and Biden's smirk was off-putting and spoke loudly where he did not have the fact to back up his positions. Also it is news that now the Obama policy is to increase tax on $1mil+ instead of $250K+ other wise known as a lie.

The White House has seen the necessity to slap Biden down for that one.

Ok, just like any other business then, I wonder how much that has an impact of some of these rises in cost...?

I think before going just all out government control of the health system, we should at least try a couple of things first like

Tort reform
Allowing greater competition across state lines
Heck, even allow us to negotiate drug prices with Canada.

What do you think?

Tort reform: Good idea. It it's a long way from an overhaul of the health care system, but it could bring costs down a little bit anyway.

Allowing greater competition across state lines: Health insurers can compete across state lines now, they just have to abide by the regulations that exist in the state where they are doing business. What they'd like is to be able to move to the state with the loosest regulations, and sell to other states under those regulations, thus taking away states' ability to regulate health insurance. What we'd see then is a lot of policies that aren't worth the paper they're written on, and a lot of people thinking that they're protected from financial disaster when, in reality, they're not.

negotiate drug prices with Canada: Why not negotiate drug prices with the manufacturers, just like Canada does?

Carney Walks Back Biden’s Million Dollar Threshold for Tax Hike | Washington Free Beacon

gheeze, I can hear the conversation in the WH this morning....

Obama - Joe, over all you did pretty good....heh, heh...I liked the interrupting, but you went a little over board on the smirks and laughing....

Biden - Aw Barry, I burried him, don't you see what our own are saying?

Obama - I see it Joe, but that is the base, and :doh now I have to send Carney out there to walk back that Million dollar remark, and in the midst of those vultures catching us on the video lie as well....Now, get with it Joe, I don't want to have to trash you when we loose, but I will.

:lamo

I suspect you would have the same view if Biden pulled a Gallagher and showed up with a watermelon and a wooden sledge to smash into Ryan's face during closing statements.

I'm moderate and am very well aware that Biden has had some... unagreeable moments.

I wasn't really disturbed by Biden's laughing. But I'm glad that you'll label anybody willing to disagree as a liberal.

Yes shiang one man did lie like his life depended on it.....

Joe Biden was lying when he claimed he voted against the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan

Saying that the Administration did not know that the Embassy in Libya requested more security when in fact several requests were made and turned down.

Lied about the $300 million dollar cut to embassy security that was never proposed and never implemented because the Ryan budget was NEVER enacted.

Lied about not wanting to keep troops in Iraq past the withdrawal deadline that President Bush signed.

Status of Forces Agreement News - Breaking World Status of Forces Agreement News - The New York Times

Lied about not wanting to tax people earning under $1 million....President Obama has been campaigning on raising taxes on those earning $250k and more.

Was totally wrong about Syria being 5 times as large as Libya.....Libya 1.76 million square kilometers........Syria 185,180 square kilometers.

Lied about pulling all troops out of Afghanistan in 2014.

Negotiate drug prices....? ever happen. Bush made an unholy deal with the drug companies to not do this.

Yes, that's correct, of course, because there were no WMDs. If he had given the IAEA a few more months to do their job, they would have certified that, and we would have been spared thousands of American lives, tens of thousands of casualties, and a trillion or so dollars in expense. Tragic, right?

Saddam Hussein wouldn't let the inspectors do their jobs.

Yes, he did, but he's not president any more. It's time for Obama/Romney to make a change and hope we can bring down the outrageous cost of prescriptions.

Yeah and it only took a war and the hanging of saddam to do that. screw diplomacy.

Yeah, nothing like paying lip service and affording a despotic regime all the time they need to ignore threats, and talk, and continue ever forward....Then we can all come back and say 'well, too late now..'

yer right, saddam was ready to take over da world!

Saddam Hussein wouldn't let the inspectors do their jobs.

Not according to the inspectors. Before Bush booted them out they reported that they were getting adequate cooperation.

Didn't say that did I? But, it is notable, that SH was repeatedly given lines, and boundries, as well as sanctions, and UN resolutions to follow, and at every turn he thwarted them in favor of clandestinely moving forward while thumbing his nose at the world.

So, It was indeed tried your way. Your quibble is just with the time alloted.

Not according to the inspectors. Before Bush booted them out they reported that they were getting adequate cooperation.

Well, yes and no. They were seeing cursory cooperation in some instances, but it surely wasn't full, and as inspectors came in the front door, prohibited materiel left out the back. Saddam only gave as much as he needed to muddy up action being taken while stalling to move forward. That is a fact.

Nope, nothing like it at all.

Unless, of course, it's actually supporting that despotic regime when there is some perceived advantage to be gained by doing so.
