Deficit shrunk by $200 billion

Yes I do and I just did.

Continue burying your head, though, if it makes you feel better.

Apparently you don't because you do not understand that the baseline was the record spending of Obama's and he actually cut nothing from that record spending level. So when you start out with a budget in excess of 3.7 trillion dollars and build from there, it isn't going to get a lot of support and it didn't.

Sorry but that simply isn't true, you have no idea what the Obama budget was nor can you explain why it didn't garner at least one Democrat vote. That budget cut NOTHING, so what part of nothing do you not understand? The baseline was the record spending that Obama has right now and proposed tax increases only on those evil rich people. That argument is falling flat because most people understand that 70 billion dollars a year is a drop in the bucket and will not put 22.7 million unemployed/under employed/discouraged workers back to work full time paying taxes.

Far too many people continue to buy the Obama lies but the electorate is waking up. IMO this election isn't going to be nearly as close as many think. I could be wrong but then again I have always had more faith in the American people than any liberal.

awesome... I agree.. people are waking up

No, it's actually getting smaller -- just not as fast as we would like.

Sadly, neither candidate has proposed the medicine that we need to get our debt under control. Obama has proposed to allow the top Bush tax cuts to expire, which will help a little. Romney has proposed maintain the status quo as far as revenue goes. In both cases we will continue to run unsustainable deficits for the foreseeable future.

Quite simply, all we need to do restore fiscal sanity is to allow all of the Bush tax cuts to expire. In that scenario deficits fall to a sustainable 3% of GDP in 3-4 years. Personally I would propse ending the top tax cuts immediately and the rest of them in the next two years.

Something I agree with completely .... . then start with "sane" cuts .... to our spending, get rid of the waste, and streamline depts. then take a step back and see what more is needed to turn things around.
