Voices Without A Vote

Well done video

Kids, for the most part, are actually pretty ****ing stupid and when it comes to politics they only know the lines that their parents have fed them.

Coincidentally, they say going to college tends to make young people start to lean more liberal...

Then, when they outgrow fairy tales, they tend to become more conservative again. ;)

With the country basically 50-50 Liberal-Conservative, don't you find it odd that there isn't one conservative teacher in college?

I graduated with a science degree and honesty could not tell you which party any of my profs belonged to. I mean how in the hell do you bring politics into a math class?

If the conservatives are so mad about all teachers being liberals then maybe a few should become teachers.

We'd rather make money.

Then, when they outgrow fairy tales, they tend to become more conservative again. ;)

Doesn't change the fact that 16 year olds know **** about politics. My brother and his friends are that age and they try to talk with me about it, but it is all ideals and things they get from their parents. No one is more worried about what faces our generation because of the previous ones than I, but that video was a joke.

You now sound like you got over your snit. Before you said when I turn 18, ****ing go vote, your sarcasm does not empress me. It only showed your immaturity.

Oh - I'm sorry - was my response offensive? Want me to continue with the immaturity? How about if I said, "Rock the Vote." Oh wait - can't use that - it was already used before to boost political involvement of teens.

Let's not look to campaign and pro-vote slogans for maturity - because it's not there. mmmkay? And I'll continue with my banter however I see fit and if you don't like it then click on my user name . . . click 'view profile' and then click 'add to ignore list' and when it says 'are you sure you want to add Aunt Spiker to your ignore list?' click 'yes'

Because my posting style won't be changing anytime soon.

Didn't I specifically write my post was totally unrelated to the debt? But now you've gone into that and I'll play your game. The debt has increased because of the recession that happened four years ago. Recession leads to higher unemployment, cuts in wages, higher inflation, lower revenue, more spending and, therefore, higher debt. These are just facts. How the economy could have gotten better and things related to the subject can be debated and to boredom, but that's not the point here.

Of course you did not want to mention the greedy borrowing and spending of Obama. You use the excuse it's Bush's fault, which led to higher unemployment, wait, I remember greedy Obama telling us that by spending a trillion dollars unemployment would never go above 8% and by now it would be in the 5% range. And I remember Obama saying in his first term he would cut the deficit in half. He lied to the American people to get elected so he could borrow and spend and give paybacks to his greedy friends.

Once again you did not mention how selfish, immoral, and unethical, it is to burden the next generations for our greed and love of borrowed money. Yeah it's all Bushes fault, that we live like greedy pigs on Obama's 6 trillion he added to the national debt in just 4 yrs. And if he is reelected he'll borrow another 5 trillion for all the greedy bastards to get fat as pigs on. And who cares who has to pay it back. I mean Obama is not selfish, immoral, or unethical passing down to the next generations the burden of pay for his greed.

Did you not know it's old BS to continue to blame Bush for Obama's greed to borrow and spend policies. Here is what Obama said about Bush adding 4 trillion to the national debt. Surly you remember this, but after Obama got elected he turned into a greedy borrow and spender.

Yes I know it's hard for some, they never do grow up and become mature adults. Yes I'll put you on ignore.

Kids Adults, for the most part, are actually pretty ****ing stupid and when it comes to politics they only know the lines that their parents televisions have fed them.

Fixed that for ya. ;)

Since it form WND it has no credibility whatsoever and I refuse to watch it. WND is home to quite possibly the stupidest on the Internet. When I first saw it I thought it was part of the Onion sadly it isn't.

You should never refuse to watch it. If nothing else, it's a chance to learn what the other side thinks and perhaps determine a way to compromise. Sticking your fingers in your ears is the action of a child. If you're certain of your positions, then you shouldn't be afraid to put them to the test.

Now, the video itself is not particularly compelling. The kids are just spouting talking points, probably without understanding much of what they mean. In this case, the TV's points went through the teacher before reaching them. I wonder if they actually think that the Declaration of Independence is law in this country. One of the kids seems to think that "endowed by our creator" is part of the first amendment. They kept talking about adherence to the constitution, but then quoted the Declaration more than the actual constitution. And then they, kids attending a public school, derided social programs. It's a good thing these kids can't vote yet. They don't seem to be ready to do so. At very least, I would like for them to know what is and isn't in the constitution. And maybe a little understanding of 10th amendment case law, since they brought up that amendment. But pretty much no one seems to have that, so what are you gonna do? Either way, this is why some real civics classes in our public school system would be good. So that these fresh 18 year old voters will actually understand how American law works a bit, and at least be able to understand the basic functions of our constitution.

Gut für Sie! Danke. So einfach auch ein Höhlenmensch könnte es tun.

Und vergessen Sie nicht, mehr Ovomaltine trinken.

This is a fantastic video made by teenagers, our next generation and their plead for you to vote.

These kids are brilliant, and see our country as it is and where it needs to do.

Video: Next gen pleads, save our country!

Did the Republicans not learn from Jonathon Krohn?

Elevating children who parrot political rhetoric is not only foolish, but you can pretty much guarantee it will turn out badly given time.

Badly for this country, now go vote for more Obama failure to make things even worse.

I think you've got age groups mixed up. HS age kids tend to buy what their peer group is selling as opposed to their parents' views. In fact a good part of being a teeenager is opposing your parents (moving to the opposite to find self). The Churchill quote (some say falsely attributed) most aptly describes the political growth of the individual.

“If you're not a liberal at twenty you have no heart, if you're not a conservative at forty you have no brain.”

So I was correct then. The reason I refuse to watch it is that the people are looney, they should be locked up in a mental institution somewhere. It's the same reason I don't waste time watching things like Maoist Rebel News. Secondly, are civics classes not required to graduate in the U.S.?
