A new low [W:101]

Why would you hug the man for doing his job? Does he expect hugs for doing his job? Aren't garbage men well compensated for their work?

I would seriously question the sanity of somebody that goes around hugging strangers for doing their jobs.

What was this video supposed to prove?

Hey people. So you all pay for the garbageman's salary. Just so you know. The garbageman isn't collecting garbage because he is a nice man. He does it because the money you pay, either directly to the salubrization company or to the state or to whatever, pays for the garbagemans' salary.

11 pages of people who don't realize that the point of the ad isn't to point out a fictional hug that is supposed to take place. It's to point out the fact that Mitt Romney doesn't care about 47% of people who collect his trash, wash his dishes, cut his grass etc. Why should he? They're not important to the bourgeois. ;)

LOL

Politics is so dirty. So dirty.

I mean, I've heard of "trash," but this is pure garbage right here.

At least in modern times; the post-Colonial period was pretty nasty, too.

But really, how many of you go out and hug your garbagemen? I already know the answer: zero. Not one of you. 99% of you don't know their names or even notice if it's the same guys from week to week, if you ever see them at all.

The trouble is, it just points out how pety the Obama campaign is, and how it keeps trying to distract from the real issues of the campaign...

Garbage collectors are not part of thr 47%... they get heavily compensated for doing such a dirty job...

HowStuffWorks "10 High-paying Dirty Jobs"
"Despite the dirt, the danger and the smell, there's no shortage of garbage collector jobs. The average annual salary for this occupation is about $43,000 [source: SimplyHired]. In California, the average hourly wage is $16.04, and in some places, the overtime can help shoot the pay to over $60,000 a year [source: CEED, Parsons]."

Taxable income begins at an AGI of $7K... which basically equates to earning at about $18-23K/yr... In fact, most garbage men are right in that area of the people who will see the highest tax spike if the Bush Tax Cuts are overturned... the ones who could be seeing taxes increase from 15% to 28%...

and where do these salaries come from?

Exactly... while many collectors work for private companies, those company survice off government contracts... taxpayer money... So that $43K-$60K/yr salary only exists because of people like Romney...

Why go to California? Let's go to Massachusetts, where Romney lives:

The Average Garbage Collector's Salary | eHow.com

The geographic location of the garbage collector affects the average salary for the job. For example, garbage collectors in New York have an average salary of $35,000, while those in Washington have an average salary of $26,000, as of November 2010, according to Indeed.com. Garbage collectors in California earn $33,000 per year, Florida earns $28,000 and those in Massachusetts earn $33,000 per year.

Again, part of the 47% Romney doesn't care about.

LMFAO... You must have an affinity for being wrong... since you fought so hard to do the research to prove it twice in that one post...

1st) I chose California, because that's where this garbage man is from... it's the house Romney owns in La Jolla, CA...

2nd) You did all that research to find the average salary for a garbage worker in MA... and still showed with the $33K/yr average... that they're still paying taxes... Again, taxable income begins at an AGI of $7K... so unless you honestly believe that the $33K/yr garbage collectors are somehow qualifing for $26K in tax breaks (you know from all those tuition payments, right?) then they're paying taxes... $33K/yr is the median income in the US... the garbade men are part of the 53%... who are having their money taken from them, to pay for those who don't... So he's just showing how the tax system is flawed... How someone like him can go out and work hard earning a salary, and 25% of his income is being taken away and given to those who do not...
