Why is there such a dislike for Obama

I apolgize I put my words in the wrong persons location I meant to put it in Lonewolfs. I am more sincerely sorry. I royally screwed up. !!!!!!!!

No big deal. I've done that myself.

I would imagine that if one were to do a poll that asked "Who would you rather take care of your finances for you: Obama or Romney" you would get a very different spread than in the favorability polls.

I think that was true in '08. Now that he's been in office for going on four years I think that novelty has worn off.

its all worn off.. Obama is a scumbag.. a loser.. a lazy moron.. a POS...a radical disgrace.... he was a ZERO.. and thats what we got a ZERO..

Anyone see a pattern here?

I could have sworn this thread was about Obama... It's simply impossible for some to address a topic without resorting to partisan politics... Although they just can't help it, it still kind of sad.

Sad? Isn't that what politics is all about? And Obama's likability is high. Okay? Now I made it about Obama.

One state a country doesn't make! And you have proof of this?

Chris Christy...Our state is changing..industry is leaving NJ because of our old tax laws , and Red States are taking the jobs.. let us hope Chris can change that ...

He seems to use the word "I" a lot and people don't generally like to listen to people talk about themselves. He seems nice enough as a person but he doesn't ever seem to interact with people on a social level. Politics and diplomacy depend on getting to know other person--it helps promote a environment for compromise.

He has an aloof and intellectual personality. I have a similar personality; I tend to dislike small talk and excessive, superflous socialization.

These personalities tend to be the minority, and the more extroverted often see them in a negative light.

I can understand why people might see Obama that way. But as one who has a similar personality, I can empathize with the guy. If I had to play the Washington social games or be on the campaign, I would probably kill myself.

You are confusing likabilty with electability. Two different things. The original poster claims Obama is hated. Not true.

Obama is despised.. I live in NJ.. I have never seen a politian more disliked..

Here are the polls for NJ. You must know alot of racists.

RCP Average 8/23 - 9/23 -- -- 51.4 38.6 Obama +12.8
Monmouth University 9/19 - 9/23 613 LV 4.0 52 37 Obama +15
Philadelphia Inquirer 9/9 - 9/12 600 LV 4.0 51 37 Obama +14
Fairleigh Dickinson 9/6 - 9/12 706 LV 3.8 52 38 Obama +14
Quinnipiac 8/27 - 9/2 1471 LV 2.6 51 44 Obama +7
Rutgers-Eagleton 8/23 - 8/25 710 LV 3.5 51 37 Obama +14

LOL, isn't that the truth!

There are several reasons.

1) There is policy. Yes there are actually some people who dislike him based purely on policy.
2) Race. Yes there are some people who dislike him because he is black.
3) Religion. Yes there are some people who think he is a Muslim and they hate Muslims. One could also claim that this is a fall guy for point 2.
4) He has a (D) behind his name, and for some people that is enough to dislike him.
5) Likeability.. some dont like him because of his "attitude". However one could claim it is nothing but a fall guy for point 2.

Now the real question is how many are in each of the 5 groups. Sadly I suspect that the ones in group 1 are in the minority, because if you actually look at the policies of the two parties.. they are not that much different.

So what you are saying is the reason most people like him is because he is black and perceive him as a Muslim too? Obviously that must be it.

I was at an event with 200 people yesterday.. Obama was the running joke.. he is not likable.. period.. he is despisable..

Obama is as intellectual as Pauly D...

You got that people... They hate him because he's black, and everything else is just an excuse.

Well, that's certainly a significant part of it. Very astute observation.

Instead of working together (no red states, no blue states) there is certainly a divisiveness that makes cooperation toward a shared vision beyond all hope.

200 people? Really? I guess it was a republican event, right. In a mere 34 days his electability will be put to the test, not his likability which is very high.

Where did I say that? I said that the policy disagreement issue is in the minority, but that does not mean the race or muslim issue is in the majority.

But saying that, when what .. 30% of GOPers think the guy is Muslim... then come on.. at least admit that within the GOP there is a rather large minority of... well mentally challenged.

I think that the reason many dislike him.. is simple.. the (D) behind his name. Why do I think this? Simple... Sarah Palin, Rick Perry and Herman Cain. all intellectually challenged people to say the least, and yet loved by people on the right and disliked by the left... because they have an (R) behind their name. In a sane world, people like Sarah Palin and Rick Perry would be nothing.. but because of the (R) then they are something. Basically.. both sides, a large part vote purely on the party definition.

My major reason for disliking Obama (I don't hate him) is number 1 and the minor reason (important, as well) is number 4. The rest are non-issues.

I would, however, add a 6th reason to your list: He lies a lot.

I dislike him for that, as well.

Last poll I saw more people trusted Obama on the economy than trusted Romney, so I suspect that's not true. Now if you asked people whose accountants they'd rather have....

You got it backwards.. if he wasnt "black" there would be nothing to like about him,.. he had that "im a minority" likablity.. so your premise is backwards.. if he was white he'd have been impeached by now..

What makes him impeachable?

Good for you... but sadly not for some on your side of the political spectrum.

Comes under nr. 5 .. likeability. If you like a person then that person does not "lie", but when you dont like a person, then they lie like mad. Often there is no factual evidence of "lying".... and no, not living up to promises, real or imagined.. is not lying.

If lying bothers you you can't possibly vote for Romney. I've never seen a presidential candidate with less regard for the truth.
