they aren't stock excuses, they are reasons. And youy hear them repeatedly because the right constantly repeats these accusations of failure.
Your excuses amount to...as I said..."it's not MY fault". Obama's used that line ad nauseum.
Excuse me? 20 other US embassies attacked? Must have missed that. I do not minimize recent events in the middle east, I understand them and put them in the proper perspective.
For instance the right is going snaky about the Muslim Brotherhood being elected in Egypt, but seem to ignore that Morsi went on television and basically told everyone to chill out - which they did.
see the map at: 2012 diplomatic missions attacks - Wikipedia, the free encyclopediaDiplomatic missions attacks
Widespread protests followed screening of excerpts of the trailer in Egypt. Many of the protests were focused on United States embassies and consular posts, with some leading to violent confrontations. Camp Bastion in Afghanistan is not a diplomatic mission but insurgents claiming responsibility had cited the film as the reason for their attack, although it seemed to have been planned in advance, similar to the Benghazi attack.
The notion that it was Obama's incompetance that got the ambassador killed is simply stupid. The expectation that POTUS would micromanage to the extent that he would know of the movements of one ambassador is unrealistic. It is claimed that the ambassador was concerned about safety, so one has to ask what the heck was he doing in this unofficial consulate and CIA station with so little protection on Sept 11?
Yes of course there were intel reports about possible attacks. By your logic , GW got 3000 americans killed by his own incompetance, since all that intel prior to 9.11 was ignored.
I've never given Bush a pass for the events on 9/11 and I don't think he's ever given himself a pass either. Too bad Obama doesn't have the same sense of responsibility.
Political hackery? I like that. Of course let's ignore the fact that some 30% of republicans think Obama is a kenyan muslim, and 50% think america is becoming a socialist state. and 52% of republicans think Obama wants to bring sharia to america. Now between you and me, that level of utter ignorance within the republican party, does not bode well. One can just imagine their ability to actually discern appropriate economic and monetary policies, realpolitik, healthcare, and the myriad of other complex challenges the country faces.
so if you wish to call that hackery, then sobeit. I like to think that I generally offer informed opinion, even if rather acerbically delivered.
Your numbers are irrelevant. If they were not, then we would have to agree that liberals have no ability to govern because approximately 100% of them believe Bush lied.
So, yeah...I'd say you are employing political hackery quite well.
