Assuming that all these guys had a chance to be president, which one of them would you vote for? And please post why you would vote for that person.

My vote is for Gary Johnson. As a Republican governor of New Mexico, back when "Republican" meant something, he turned a deficit into a surplus. Not only that, but his views on personal freedom match my own. He doesn't want government intrusion into peoples' lives, which is another aspect that the GOP lost over the years. He is Libertarian, but is not objectivist (Randism). He believes that people should work for what they get in life, but if anybody hits hard times, he is not averse to the government helping them out until they get back on their feet. He also believes the personal freedom also means personal responsibility for one's actions. His views are very close to mine, which is why he has my vote this year.

Hell, I don't even know who half those people are.

Obviously I said Obama, because he's a moderate progressive -- not a conservative or libertarian.

Obama, he doesn't seem as bad as Romney / conservatives.

I voted Romney.

Personally, I liked Herman Cain. I've heard him on Atlanta radio for a couple years now, and I don't give a fig who he got busy with. Clinton got a hummer from a chubby intern...same thing. However since the primary objective is to get rid of this clusterfork of a failure in the White House, any vote other than Romney might as well be a vote for Obama.

I could care less if those 3rd party candidates have a chance or not. I am not voting for Obama or Romney.Since my state does screw third parties I will simply leave that section of the ballot blank just like I did in 08.

According to this side I side 82% with Virgil Goode. So if my state didn't screw third parties I would vote for him.

I voted for Ron Paul in this poll, and I would vote for him in the general election if it wasn't throwing away a vote. I like his position on state's rights, the fed, and reducing the size and scope of the govt. I AM voting for Romney, because let's face it we live in a two party system. Romney has the experience in finances, to end the deficit, and start a plan to pay back our debt. It may take longer than I like, but one step in the correct direction is better than two steps in our current direction.

Jill Stein for sure.

Jon Huntsman by far. I'll be voting for Romney this November, but only because I believe he'll move back to the center if elected, and is only giving focus to social conservatives right now in order to energize the base. Huntsman, though, matches my own views on almost everything from social issues, to fiscal policy, to environmental policy. He also has executive experience from his time as Governor of Utah and foreign policy experience as ambassador to China. Really, to me, he's pretty much the ideal candidate, and I sincerely hope he runs for President again in 2016 if Romney loses this year.

If I were on the ballot, I would vote for myself. Regrettably, I am not a contender. So I'll vote for Gary Johnson as my proxy.

I would vote for Romney because I don't like Obama Islamist secret agenda.

Ron Paul could have beaten Obama and ended all this nonsense, and so in this poll I vote Ron Paul. But in the actual Presidential election I'm going to vote for Gary Johnson.

RP. Simply because he always kept his promises and takes his job seriously.

Second on my list would be Huntsman.

I like Ron Paul, but IMHO, Gary Johnson has actually walked the walk as the chief executive of a state, so I give him the nod based on experience.

Even with that extensive list, I would end up doing what I will end up doing in November.... Writing my own name in on the ballot. The only reason I haven't done that in the past is that I was not legally eligible until this election.

i usually match up with Jill Stein and Obama, so it would be a toss up. however, the green party turned me off with their platform of completely unrealistic promises, which i know a party has to do to differentiate itself. i could let that go, and i'm a bit time supporter of alternative energy, but i wouldn't get there by a regressive carbon tax. most likely i'd vote Obama, but only after thoroughly researching every candidate on your list.

I would actually take Gary Johnson over Ron Paul

Same person I stumped for in the Primaries...Huntsman. Best mix of someone who:

1. Views issues in a way similar to me
2. Has the political skill set to deal with both sides and the international stage
3. Has an outstanding solid, real, and impactful record on much of what's most important to me in this election

I made a thread in Presidental elections where if we had an open election system in this country similar to an open primary and you could vote for who ever you wanted who would you vote for? It does not necessariy pertain to this election but any election since you have been able to vote. I think it is similar to this thread.

I'll be voting for Romney. I had turned my dispositions away from the Democratic Party as a national platform at the same time that I thought Huntsman, who is perhaps more my style, unfortunately had little traction.

^ what he said.

I live in Wyoming so it doesn't matter. Figure this year I'm going to vote for Gary Johnson-- I don't normally care for Libertarian policies, but Johnson strikes me as a moderate who breaks with the Libertarians on those issues the GOP has the right of.

Ideally, I would prefer to vote for Huntsman.

I think the better question to ask is who would you like to see be president?

I nominated Ron Paul and generally vote libertarian, however I'm not going to waste my presidential vote on a candidate who has no chance of winning and that is the only reason why I'm voting Romney.

Obamy is evil, ignorant and nefarious and needs to be removed so my vote for Romney isn't in support - it's a vote against Obama.

Anyone who opposes Obama but votes 3rd party may as well be wasting their vote....

This election comes down to two candidates. Now, would you rather have Romney or Obama? because a vote for a 3rd party candidate may as well be a vote for Obama.

That would be a wasted vote considering Johnson has absolutely no chance to win.

Obama is a reckless clown who needs to be fired. I don't believe this is the correct election to be casting protest ballots.

Casting a ballot of Johnson is the same as casting a ballot for Obama...

I support Johnson's politics 100% but I know he has (sadly) no chance of winning this election. I'm using my vote to get that ignorant clown Obama out of office...

As a libertarian I believe our goal should be to remove Obama rather than elect Romney - that is just the way I see it and I will do just that with my vote.
