Uh, that's how many were killed -- not the total security force.
The security force was sufficient to hold out for five hours against a highly organized attack involving RPGs, hand grenades, gun trucks, and mortars.
Naw... really? there were more than 2 people there?
Again, those two Navy Seals killed in Libya were not on security of the embassy in Cairo... but I'm used to having to circumvent your perpetual attempts at distraction from points of relevance...
The marine staff protecting the embassy is Cairo has been the largest in the region, and it still is only 30 people... the crowd gathered around was estimated to be 2K... 30 is way too small... There's a retired Col. who was contracted to the state department to provide security to embassies in Afghanistan... he said it was supposed to be 75... I trust 75 Marines to be able to disperse a crowd of 2K rioters throwing stones and waving flags... 30 I could see being overrun, but not before putting up a better fight than what we saw...
However, this details the initial attack, and the numbers scalong the wall as dozens... are you telling me 30 marines couldn't stop dozens of protesters?

that source also mentions that staff had been sent home earlier in the day, as they had known about the protest in advance...
a statement which is also backed up by this marine publication...
Embassy attacks highlight Corps security work - Abstract
In the pictures of the raid on the embassy in Cairo, there is no sign of a struggle or resisistence to the people who have scaled the wall... It isn't until aftewards that you can see tear gas cannisters and clashes with local Egyptian security forces... Where is the action from the US Marines? Why did it take so long for a FAST team to arrive?
"
Protesters destroy an American flag pulled down from the U.S. embassy in Cairo September 11, 2012."
Unfortunately, it isnt until after the fact, that the tear gas cannisters came out, and the police began breaking up riots... and getting in clashes with the protesters... But, they didn't until 24 hrs after the initial attacks on 9/11 and the threats that were made prior to then... The FAST unit wasn't sent until 24 hrs after the attack either... and they were sent to Bengazi, not Cairo...
Here is an article on mother jones, which posts a memo from the USMC on the attacks and the response...

As it says, the FAST team was deployed to Libya not Cairo...
It's a shame... it really is...
But, yet again we have another issue, where you try to pretend my criticisms are unfounded... So I will show you those of others... with the same viewpoint, who have far more experience on the matter than either of us...

So it isn't my notion of the lack of adequate security... it's the fact that there wasn't adequate security... and most people have been after the adminstration over this... and not Romney...
