Obama Takes Heat For Skipping Bilaterals

Getting back to the topic at hand. The one objective disappointment I have of the President is that he does not engage people. He gives good speeches but he doesn't form relationships with anyone. Not with the Congress to get things done, and certainly not with foreign leaders. I've found that even if you have disagreement with someone you can still have a relationship to find common ground.

I heard that the New York Times yesterday had an article about this point. One Democratic Senator supposedly noted that he plays golf but he has not played golf with the President and neither has anyone else in Congress that he knows of. One complaint of Eisenhower was that he played a lot of golf, but I understand he got a lot of work done.

A quote I heard attributed to George H.W. Bush, an accomplished diplomat by anyone's critieria was that, in the White House, whenever you have some spare time, it's always a good idea to pick up the phone and call some Emir somewhere to ask how the weather is.

I also never have seen him campaign for anyone else. Congressperson, Senator, whomever.

The fact that he isn't meeting with anyone at the UN, regardless of the usefulness of the UN, it still is a place to talk with a counterpart.

Obama went to a campaign event the day after the murders. He didn't however attend his security briefing. It was widely reported before the murders that he was frequently skipping his briefings and his spokeman stated that he was so intelligent he didn't need to attend them. It was reported that he hadn't attended a meeting for a week prior to the attacks. With the anniversary of 9/11 approaching wouldn't it have been prudent and responsible to meet with his advisers? His fear of being held responsible for the attacks led to the lie about the movie being the cause. Lucky for him the US msm is state controlled. If the msm was as honest as Univision, Obama's campaign would be in shambles.

Ronald Reagan never attended his security briefings. Never. Presumably that means he didn't attend the day after a suicide bomber blew up our Marine barracks in Lebanon, killing 241 service men and women.

Were both presidents in constant contact with relevant cabinet secretaries and military leadership? Of course they were.

Yes, that is correct. He never attended a single PDB briefing, to the best recollection of the CIA officer who was giving the briefings at the time. I guess that makes him the worst foreign policy president of all time, right?

There actually used to be Republicans I liked, they are either dead or recently purged as RINO's. I do not recognize the GOP as a mainstream party anymore. It's become more like a fringe group than a political party.

That's exactly how I see the democratic party since Nancy Pelosi ascended to power with her San Francisco values. Abortion on demand for any reason at tax payer expense, free contraceptives to all, gay marraige no matter what the people vote, class warfare, bills that you have to vote for to find out what they say.....There is still at least one dem I'd vote for though. Joe Manchin is as conservative as any republican in the senate. Of course he runs from the mere mention of Obama's name.

Romney was criticized by members of his own party for how he handled the Benghazi attack. He didn't even give Obama a chance to deal with the matter before he came out attacking Obama for how he was handling it.
However, your opinion is noted.

I can see why you are upset, you must live on Mars and they have somone there named Pelosi. Because here on Earth NONE of those things happened at all. The only person here that you need to vote for to find out what his policys will be is Romney, and I don't care if I ever find out what he has in mind.

Oh please. That is such a non issue. His spokeman said he reads the briefings each morning. That's good enough for me. I don't listen to these petty policial talking points. The US msm is not state controlled. I have no idea where people like you get these ideas.
