Which Of These Two Realities Would You Want To Leave Your Grandchildren?

I do know a few places wehre the image represtents reality.

Although bravo Camion ... in bold you spoke the absolute truth ... it is a progressive dream in which many people and myself include work for ... and what progressives would like to happen to our cities ... thriving ,clean, self sustaining and meaningful business that is for we the people and indoctrination by corporate "news" so a few people can go offshore while the masses live in the city on the right.
You better take a closer look at that image, then. On the Democrat side there are, like, 3 private businesses. Three. The rest of the sh*t is owned by the government.

Hmm... 3 business to support all of the rest of it? "Dream" is a very good word choice.

Ahhh progressives support small business and buying local. The pictures were microcosms ...of the values ... local small business, education, RE, clean air and water and healthy wholesome society with personal freedoms.

... utopia doesn't exist.

You really don't realize why that is? It's because of wealth involved not necessarily political affiliation. Take someplace like Aspen Colorado, which is heavily Democratic and wealthy, and you'll see the same kind of businesses and services available as someplace like Carmel, Indiana. That's also why almost all large cities are Democratic, they're poor. If the picture wanted a higher degree of accuracy it would depict "Got Mine Estates" far outside of town. The rich don't live in the urban blight their policies create, they only make their profits off the poor who live there.

I want to congratulate the other liberal posters on this thread who have made very logical observations about the cartoon vis-a-vis the real life situations involved. Then here you come with a nonsensical retort alleging that GOPers hate the poor and get all their money from poor people. Which is a strange sort of thinking - but typical of the stereotypical DEM.

... utopia doesn't exist.

So we should embrace Hell enthusiastically? There is a huge difference between realizing life is not inherently fair and believing we should expand and endorse its disparity as the Republicans do.

good observation...

hell the graphic on the left reminds me of where i'm at right now... even with the light rail depot... and i'm in a small burg 40 miles from Austin Texas:lol:

But you know damn well it was the liberal hippies in Austin who brought you that light rail. lol

Ahhhh - GOPers are the primo supporters of small businesses. DEMs are supporters of government workers (for those who work at all, that is)

But when you disparage 'big business' tell me how small businesses are going to cope with energy production and building those roads and bridges. Who makes the the automobiles, even the hybrids, and who digs out the iron ore to make the steel they are made of.

To just make silly slams at 'big business' and suggesting that if only the libs were in control we could all exist in a fairy-tale land with nothing bigger than a Starbucks to mar the scenery is juvenile thinking.

And you reveal total ignorance repeating the same old lie that conservatives want 'dirty air, and polluted water.' Conservatives work their butts off to produce the stuff that you liberals take for granted and doing it in an environmentally safe manner. It is only the unreasonable demands by the radicals on the left who think 'if only the evil GOPers and their BIG OIL buddies were eliminated' that we would have rivers with distilled water flowing in their channels.

Conservatives deal with the real world. Radical leftists live in some fantasy.

What exactly do you think an increase in income disparity is if it isn't rich people accumulating more of the money that used to be in the hands of people who aren't rich? Like I said in another post, show me a community with a high median income that looks like the picture on the right and you will have begun to disprove that wealth is the overriding factor. Most urban areas didn't begin to decline steeply until everyone who could afford to started moving to the supposed Shangri-La of the suburbs.

Using all or none superlatives to describe your GOP utopia followed by a 100% dismissal of the opposition as living "in some fantasy" isn't really making much of a point at all due to it's intellectual dishonesty.

yes, yes it was.... who else would bring us a light rail system that few ride, loses money every second it's in operation, and cost over 100 million dollars to build ( plus 14 million to operate).
do you know how many hippies ride the rail?... not one.... they all live downtown already....stupid hippies.

hippies brought us toll roads too... state subsidized toll roads whose "profits" go to Spain ( they charge $.24 a mile to drive on it... and beings few want to pay that price, it remains quite empty)

and that is my lesson on why hippies shouldn't be allowed within 1 million miles of taxpayer money...
( unless they agree to pay $.24 a mile to drive those million miles) :)

I'm no fan of hippies myself. Santa Fe is chock full of them spanging on street corners.

to be honest, our hippies are pretty harmless... they have no power in local affairs... they are more a power in culture than anything else.
they don't smell as bad as west coast hippies either

the limousine liberals hold the power in Austin....and the local government is chock full of ideologues dreaming up ways to spend money they don't have.
and that's why I won't live in Travis county

Huh? I never slammed big business or even alluded to most of what you wrote in your post?

Get a grip ... never even alluded to such ... if my comment of supporting small business and buying local and supporting domestic companies brought forth this tirade of imaginary radical indoctrinated by fox talking points you might be too far gone to have a logical discussion.

Not that I don’t think the picture is kinda silly (no liquor store+farmer’ s market combo? DON’T MAKE ME CHOOSE!) but I count minimum 7 obvious private businesses, and only that few assuming no in-home businesses. :)

Didn't Joseph Goebbels make extensive use of this sort of stuff?
He also drank water and water based fluids.

Do you drink water based fluids?

:drink

He also breathed air, just like every other human.

But what Goebbels was known for was the mis-use and abuse of State Propaganda to push un-realistic agendas and justify horrid crimes by manipulating people by promises of Utopian dreams.

I didn't think I had to be that BLUNT about it, but...

Since you are being blunt, exactly what horrid crimes are being promoted by this picture? Are you now so self obsessed you equate Obamacare or ending the temporary Bush II tax cuts to the affluent to the Holocaust?

I quite specifically compared your “Image” to the works of Joseph Goebbels.

You could also compare your “Image” to the works of Hakkō ichiu.

I did not compare it to the works of Josef Mengele, or Che Guevara, Vladimir Kryuchkov or General Nakajima Kesago.

Perhaps if you did a bit of homework, and learned history of and the similarities / differences these figures, you might better understand my meaning.

Well it isn’t “State Propaganda”, it doesn’t look anything like Goebbels work in structure or form, and tying this to “horrid crimes” is gross hyperbole.

That leaves you with “un-realistic agendas” which are not only a dime-a-dozen but ironically I think the case for including the Nazis are weaker considering what they accomplished, and “manipulating people by promises of Utopian dreams”, which you might as well reference any ad agency this side of the Sears Roebuck catalog.

We are left with the inevitable conclusions you were just making a clumsy play of the Nazi Card. :D

Easy part to overlook here is the image isn't the vision of two different parties... it is only the vision of one.
