Obama's Tax penalty to hit nearly 6 million uninsured people

Yeeaaah.
I see you do not run a business, and I question if you have ever been employed.

I do hold a Job, every one of my employers have offered insurance. The bill should make insurance cheaper for people to buy them selves since insurance companies have to spend 85% of the money they receive on you.

What happens if you are self-employed by your own company and pay your health insurance yourself? Would you get the check, the credit, or would it still be vouchered to the insurer?

If everyone complies with the law, exactly no one in the middle class will pay a penalty.

OTOH, tens of millions of working class people will receive subsidies to purchase health care insurance, which they could not afford in the past.

Aren't the middle class also a working class, or is that more of your communist divisiveness?

Law is not in effect yet.......so no you are wrong. Price caps are also not in effect. Current extorsion is result of CEO care!

Small employer people will still get affordable coverge via exchange.........AFTER jan 1 2014

I never said the law was in effect. I said what the law is going to cost me.

Small employers are not required to, and the price caps for them do not apply. They are exempt.

Except it doesn't make it cheaper. It is just shifting the cost of the premiums to others.

Obamacare is a disgusting piece of crap.

We need universal healthcare with cost control... And there will always be private clinics and surgeons and whatnot mainly for the wealthy, so don't worry.

People say "well I don't want some bureaucrat controlling my healthcare!" Sorry to break it to you, but they already are! It's some insurance bureaucrat that wants to make as much money off you as possible.

The law IS NOT IN EFFFECT YET.........READ THE LAW.

After jan 1 2014 then it is.

Your premium WILL NOT BE ALLOWED to be more then 9.5% of your pay and emplyer is REQUIRED to pay 60% of total costs.

First, the taxes that are in the bill went into effect this year.

Second, 9.5% is nearly double what I'm paying now. What do you bet I end up paying 9.5%?

Third, how is that going to work for minimum wage employees? Let's say they actually make $8 an hour. They can only pay $1580 a year and the employer pays 60%, so that's $2633 or $219.44 a month, which you can't get the required coverage for that amount.

Not if Republicans still have the House.

Single payer is already part of the ACA. So if ACA stands, single payer option does too.

its a option that allows states to enact any HC plan that is as good as ACA.....cant seem to find the section of 3590 now.....

LMAO, if it is not in effect, then HOW can it possibly "cost you"!!!! Contard logic!!!!

Yes they ARE REQUIRED to allow ALL employees to buy their own coverage.......small employer are not to pay anything......

They have no right to STOP anyone.......

And the price caps DO APPLY. 100% of poverty to 400%........price caps apply. 2% of pay to 8% of pay.

WOW are you lucky, the rest of us are screwed in your old system........about to be eliminated.
if you pay 9.5% so what! (and just so you know, there is no price cap over ~$55k income LOL)

Those ~$10k to $14k can only pay max 2% of pay for insurance. (I assume they are dumped)
Even at 9.5% of pay, they will be happy to pay that for REAL insurance.

They WILL GET the required coverage, via employer or not. And its cheaper if you get dumped. 9.5% of pay to 2% .......
Single payer here we come!!!!

its going to "cost you" a small part of your profits............

$600mil (my estimation) of Mcdonalds $5B profits............

we will all feel sorry for you and your "class". :2razz:

My profits? $300/mo is a significant burden. It is hardly small.

What does McD's have to do with me?

I'm in the middle class. Your attitude, and the attitude of other poor people like you, is why I do not feel sorry for your "class". You talk about the rich, but its not about the rich. Its about anyone who has more than you.

Maybe if you made the efforts I have, maybe if you worked as hard as I do, you wouldn't be poor.

Amen! let us get rid of the third-party-payment dominated system that we have today and instead institute an actual market place!

Incidentally, the difference between a private company employee and a government bureaucrat in the performance of their duties is that the private company employee is accountable for their decisions, whereas government bureaucrats are not. just food for thought. :)

Well that makes perfect sense!! If you're employed, you're covered. If you're not employed, you need only spend about $14,000 a year (average cost of health insurance for a family of four) to avoid your $1,200 tax penalty (CBO estimated average).

Actually Sears has now made it policy just to hand cash out for healthcare - yeah, they have discontinued their healthcare plan.

I expect to see many companies doing the same thing.
