A lot of it might have been a holdover from my (continuing) admiration for his dad, George, who I've encountered in political history books before and who I thought was a fine man with a vision of competency which events conspired to rob him of the possibility of implementing. That carried over for me into 2008, when I thought Mitt was the only chance that the Republicans had of moving forward with a reasonable set of ideas for the nation. I could've voted for Romney in 2008.
Now its like, oh he's another unbelievable dip**** from the GOP. What else is new?
American politics is depressing sometimes.
