Romney's Disgusting Attack On Obama Shortly After A US Ambassador Was Killed. [W:24]

Re: Romney's Disgusting Attack On Obama Shortly After A US Ambassador Was Killed. [W:

I think it's a bit hyperbolic to call it a "disgusting" attack.

What would you call it then tess..

Re: Romney's Disgusting Attack On Obama Shortly After A US Ambassador Was Killed. [W:

Premature and tacky.

Some would consider rightfully consider that disgusting :)

The Politics (Ugh, Yes, the Politics) of the Attacks on the US Diplomatic Posts in Benghazi and Cairo - ABC News

Before news spread that four Americans had been killed in Benghazi, Romney yesterday issued a statement saying in part: "It's disgraceful that the Obama administration's first response was not to condemn attacks on our diplomatic missions, but to sympathize with those who waged the attacks."

This is an attack that does not stand up to simple chronology.

Asked what Romney was referring to, his campaign Tuesday pointed to a statement from the US Embassy in Cairo issued a statement "condemn(ing) the continuing efforts by misguided individuals to hurt the religious feelings of Muslims" - referring to the anti-Muslim movie allegedly inflaming the demonstrators, rioters, and attackers - but that statement was issued before the attacks on the diplomatic missions.

You can spam the thread with the same post over and over again, but it neither creates a counter argument nor refutes mine. So the question is: what's the point in wasting time?

"Rightfully" is certainly debatable.

Umm..I think not...everyone has a right to think what they want ...if I find romnys statement disgusting I can "rightfully" feel that way

"Rightfully" does not refer to "rights". "Rightfully" refers to correctness. You have a RIGHT to an opinion, but saying "rightfully disgusted" would mean "being justified in being disgusted". Having a right and having a justification are not the same thing.

Hence, your original statement is very much debatable.

I don't think so. Just because people have the right to think what they want, doesn't mean everything they think is right. You can think Obama was born in Kenya, but you can't "rightfully" think that.

You said it better than me.

Actually, the 3rd sentence is royally screwed. I edited my original post, but you got the horror before I'd finished. :2razz:

I disagree its not debateable...If you say something to me and I can rightfully think its disgusting even if you didnt intend it that way...were getting into semantics here tess....but the bottom line is if someone believes what romeny said is disgusting they can rightfully think that....and you can rightfully believe its not....there is no right or wrong here...he said it...its a matter of what each individual thinks about what he said

Again there is no right or wrong here....romney in fact said it...and each individual has a RIGHT to percieve what he said based on what they believe.....

Re: Romney's Disgusting Attack On Obama Shortly After A US Ambassador Was Killed. [W:

Personally, I do find any kind of apology or sympathy with the killers as disgusting.

What did Obama say... where did he apologize?

Correct. But that's not what "rightfully" means in that case. You have every right to perceive what you want, but that doesn't mean that belief is justified.

Note this desperate attack was done on the 911 anniversary.

Sweet got his signature time to take back all the money he stole =P.

Ya what was it called? "shoot first, aim later?"

Yes it is..because its my OPINION of what he said...he said it...I have a right to percieve what he said anyway I want...So anyone that thinks what romney said was disgusting has a right to feel that way...

We're going in circles. Yes you have a right to that opinion. It doesn't make your opinion justified which is what the word "rightfully" usually means. Opinions can be right or wrong.

Yes we are going in circles....nope my opinion of what he actually said cant be wrong...what he said can be wrong...NOT MY opinion of what he said to which I have a right to have....<the end>

Yes it can. Now I'm not saying its wrong or right in this particular case, but it can be. If your opinion is based on faulty logic, which is very possible, then it can be wrong. And I don't know why you keep saying you have a right to have the opinion, as no one is arguing otherwise.
